- SULEV emissions status for CA model, 165-horsepower SE-R sport version, pleasing cabin design, fun to drive.

Stunning reliability - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By Togoshiman - November 27 - 7:50 amPassed 150,000kms this week. Nothing has gone wrong with this car in nine years of continuous operation. While regular maintenance has helped, Im astonished that I have done nothing but tires, oil changes, brake pads and a new oil dipstick the entire time. Nissan has been quick about recalls - the throttle issues seem limited to those who fail to heed the recalls. I dont baby the car at all - cars are meant to be driven. Its been on dirt roads to cottage country and through nine Canadian winters with salted roads without rust (save for one muffler bracket which was replaced for $60). While the design is showing its age and its no luxury car, I am very impressed overall.

Best Bang For The Buck..And Then Some! - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By Josh Smith - November 1 - 2:00 amI just bought this car about a week ago, and all I have to say is "Where have you been all my life". I have owned many sports cars from 300zxs to Mustangs. This by far is the most fun to drive car I have ever driven! I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for heart stopping fun from idle to redline....and beyond.

Fun as heck, could use improvements... - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By JeyB - July 14 - 10:00 amIf you buy a Nissan, buy it expecting never to see the dealer again, as they are about worthless. The car is incredibly fun to drive, is responsive to simple performance add ons like a header/exhaust system, and is relatively cheap to run. Get 24-5 mpg avg. For 16g you cant get a car thats funner to drive. At this price point there is no better car. For a bit more the imprezzas a good buy, but not as fun. Id recommend the spec v only if you love shifting and/or live in a snowy climate, as the differential could come in handy there.

Nissan Spec V - Bad Manual Tranny - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By nissanfan1639 - April 25 - 2:00 amI like the looks and engine has decent pep. The manual transmission leave a lot to be desired. Had nothing but problems with the manual tranny. The gear ratios dont seem right and shifting gears is problematic, hard to do and often caused grinding. Ive driven stick for 20 years and never had this before. The Audio system is overrated, for the price. The dealer turned into a #@$ after the sale, when I complained about the transmission.

Nice car, but not very fuel efficent - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By jason - April 5 - 3:16 pmI bought my 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R mainly because of Nissans reputation for building reliable vehicles, but Ive been very dissapointed in the fuel ecomony. I was expecteting something close to what was adverstised on the sticker (25-28 city).. but Ive never gotten better than 21... not a huge difference.. but dissapointing.

Problem-free - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By BWheel - March 10 - 6:56 pmOwned this vehicle (GXE w/ cruise control package) from 2001-2008 and through 180K miles only recently showed problems (oil leakage). Prior to that, only repairs needed were for leaking AC (2 times), blocked radiator and oil leak. None of these occurred within the first 100K miles. Car provided 30 mpg this year. For the price, great car.

My Pocket-Rocket - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By Nino2138 - November 12 - 10:00 amThis car is phenomenal. The ride is really tight but better that way than bouncing around all over the road at 100+ miles per hour. Today I reached my highest speed ever as a driver, 107 miles per hour. I only was maybe 1/3 of the way down on the throttle! Makes me wonder what this car can really do... I chose the color Vibrant Blue...the car really stands out in this color..(Believe me....Ive never had so much attention from the ladies before) I currently have 550 miles on it.....

Good value for money - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By alik - August 24 - 10:00 amAfter 9 months and 20,000 miles it has had no mechanical problems. I drive long distances all the time and the Sentra proved to be reliable and comfortable. For $14,500 drive out price, its a great value.
