This Year's Model Updates:

Beloved by compact car enthusiasts, the Nissan Sentra SE-R returns after a seven-year hiatus. The Sentra SE is no longer available, though Nissan has created additional options packages for the GXE to make it similar to the SE.

Pros:
  • SULEV emissions status for CA model, 165-horsepower SE-R sport version, pleasing cabin design, fun to drive.
Cons:
  • Generic styling, GXE and SE-R models command premium price.

  • A Nice Little Package - 2002 Nissan Sentra

I just bought this car last month and I am actually shocked how much I like this car. It wasnt my first choice but ended up with it because of price. Well I consider myself lucky because this car is a blast to drive. Its like driving a go cart as it hugs the turns very nicely. With this very taught suspension you do sacrifice a smooth ride. It does not handle the bumps very well at all but you wont be too disappointed when you see how this baby handles. It has plenty of trunk space for me and my buddies golf clubs. It gets around town with decent gas mileage and highway miles arent bad either (23/27). It has wonderful get up and go and you will love zipping around the traffic.

  • Great price, great car - 2002 Nissan Sentra

We were looking at the Sentra, Corolla, Civic, and Elantra. We decided on the Sentra for its great price, tasteful styling, and solid build. Its been a great car, handles well, and has adequate acceleration.

After test driving this vehicle I had a big S___eating grin on my face. What a blast to drive. I am 37 and the father of 2 kids, so i wanted something sporty, economical, and practical(4 doors). I did alot of research into all the other makes and models and test drove almost all of them(no american manufacturers). In my opinion the sentre se-r gave me all of what i was lookin for at the best price (17,200).Yes there are minor things that are not great about the car but, when you compare it to the competition they become irrelevant. Do yourself a favor and test drive one.

  • First and last Nissan - 2002 Nissan Sentra

My sentra was my first car and I was at first excited because I had limited means and the Sentra is an affordable car. I have had the car for nearly two cars and have had to replace the transmission take it for at least two recalls. They replaced the transmission because it had a piece of metal in it and yet I still hear grinding noises when I accelerate. BEWARE

  • Nissan proven quality and reliability! - 2002 Nissan Sentra

I bought this car new in the beginning of November 2002. I test drove the Protege, Civic, Spectra and Impreza. I must say that the Sentra fit like a glove. It is solidly built and very practical. I also own a 95 200sx SE-R which I bought new and have never had a problem with it. My philosophy is if something works for you stick with it. Nissans are great cars and I encourage anyone in the market for a new car to check them out.

  • I am done with NISSAN - 2002 Nissan Sentra

I purchased a 02 Nissan Sentra GXE in Dec of 2001 from our local dealer in Petaluma California. At the time, we also considered Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla but ended up with the Nissan because the interior of the Sentra looked much better than the rest. Big mistake! Our Nissan was ok for the first several years but it started falling apart as soon as it hit 100k. Everything from faded paint to the on board computer (ECM) went out at a cost of $700. Next the transmission went out as well as the seatbelts and etc... Now I understand why people buy Toyotas. Meanwhile, a friend of ours has a 02 Corolla with 200k and its still running strong.

  • Great...Great Car - 2002 Nissan Sentra

This car is so much fun to drive. I decided on the SE-R, not the Spec V. I dont think it was worth the money, plus the dealership were much more willing to come down on the price of the SE-R then the Spec V. The seats are great. I love the confidence i get when i speed into a turn. My butt stays planted to the seat, and i dont slide around! I previously drove a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. So the acceleration was stunning to me, but the amount of fun it was to run through the gears was quite fun. I love all the standard features you get with this car, to go along with the great power and handling.

  • Awesome Car!!! - 2002 Nissan Sentra

I love my car. It has been nothing but dependable and reliable. And I love the way it looks. I am 19 years old and I had 3 cars before I bought my Sentra and all three of them were nothing but trouble. I had a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlas Ciera, a 1991 Chrysler Lebaron, and a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire. The Sunfire was the worst I had it for 6 months and put almost $1000 into fixing the problems that came up with it. I love my Sentra and I would recommend everyone to have a Nissan!!

  • Spec V - 2002 Nissan Sentra

The Nissan SE-R Spec V is not only fuel efficient, and comfortable, but also a pleasure to drive. I would recommend this highly reliable car to anyone.
