Overview & Reviews
Beloved by compact car enthusiasts, the Nissan Sentra SE-R returns after a seven-year hiatus. The Sentra SE is no longer available, though Nissan has created additional options packages for the GXE to make it similar to the SE.
- SULEV emissions status for CA model, 165-horsepower SE-R sport version, pleasing cabin design, fun to drive.
- Generic styling, GXE and SE-R models command premium price.

Nissan SPEC V Blues - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By KR - June 24 - 2:00 amI have already replaced one rim and will probably have to replace another. Shifting remains an adventure. Oil consumption is high - the dealer checked into this and stated that the engine has a lot of channels and it takes a long time for all the oil to redeposit in the pan.

Sound, fun car for the price! - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By Balaji - June 17 - 6:03 pmBought this car used with low miles almost 2 years ago. Its been reliable and fun to drive. Good pickup for a 4 cylinder! But fuel mileage is poor for a compact. I get between 25-30mpg at best. The build quality and comfort could do with a little improvement. Overall, Im very satisfied with it.

FAST AND FURIOUS!!!! - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By specvissweet - June 13 - 10:00 amI just bought this car a week ago, 2003 blue se-r spec V. I was surprised by the performance and how many heads it turned. My friends love the 6 speed stick, and everyone will want to drive it. This is a great buy for 19000, I recommend it, but if ur gonna buy a sentra, make sure its the spec V.

comprehensive review - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By fry_ed - June 1 - 2:00 am03 Spec w/ 8k mi. What it has that its competitors do not are 1) torque 2)limited slip differential, 3) 4 doors. Hands down best value under $19k (fully loaded). Car has great feel to it. Bolstered seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, sweet shift knob. Red-lit dash great at night. Car is all-round performer. Tuned suspension and LSD enable it to handle with the best. 2 words: Canyon Carving. Gear ratios perfect for accel, although the Spec kinda drags (lots of wind noise too) beyond 115 mph. 6th gear short = rather high rpm (3100?) at 85 = bad on gas. Easy to launch, can lay down rubber in 2nd and 3rd. Decent aftermarket, for NA or FI.

Wont be buying another - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By TurboTayrob - May 18 - 3:10 pmI purchased my 02 Spec v from the original owner at 41k back in oct of 08,the car was perfect condition, one owner, all maintenance records ,I bought it because the original owner simply didnt need it anymore(close friend)I figured "hey im buyin a nissan itll last me through college" WRONG!I lay no fault at the original owner, but at nissan , at 61k im having alternator, transmission and a whole lot of other electrical problems ,needless to say I didnt think SE-R parts would be easy to find but this is ridiculous,if only the performance made up for it when I hit the back roads its all gravy but in the city im highly disappointed with reliability, performance and MPGs, my last nissan EVER

vspec > vtec - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By ks86 - March 28 - 10:00 amjust recently bought the car and so far i really like it. the car suprised me with its power that it has. bought the car with 50k miles on it and theres a few minor repairs needed, but nothing too big.. this car is a really good value.. just as fun to drive as a srt4, but 10k less.. recommended :) (for all specv owners, throw a cold air intake on it, makes such a difference in sound and high end torque for less then 200$)

Built to Last - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By RSH - March 25 - 5:56 amThis is my 2nd Sentra, my 1st, a 1991 2-Dr model, lasted until it was totalled in a collision in 02. When I purchased this one, it was a definite upgrade in terms of weight, acceleration, comfort and style. The mileage could be a little better these days (avg 25-30), the leg room in the back is too little for people over 5 tall, and it is very sensitive to the wind. I am overall very happy with the car, its very reliable and can handle its own. Other than the above issues, its a great car for long term owners.

My Review:Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V - 2002 Nissan Sentra
By Lonestar - March 20 - 8:36 pmI have had my SE-R Spec V since mid January, and have loved it the entire time. You know you like a car, when walking away towards a long day of work, you look back 3 or 4 times before heading into the building. Sharp acceleration speed, even when already up to 80 mph+. Great road feel. A very nice stereo (Audio Fanatic Package) right out of the stock model. Mes love the car. PS: Its relatively cheap, for the way the car feels.
