This Year's Model Updates:

Beloved by compact car enthusiasts, the Nissan Sentra SE-R returns after a seven-year hiatus. The Sentra SE is no longer available, though Nissan has created additional options packages for the GXE to make it similar to the SE.

Pros:
  • SULEV emissions status for CA model, 165-horsepower SE-R sport version, pleasing cabin design, fun to drive.
Cons:
  • Generic styling, GXE and SE-R models command premium price.

  • Dont buy this car!! - 2002 Nissan Sentra

Bought the Sentra SER Spec V; all options. Love the 2.5L 180 HP engine. Torque steer was an issue, but it goes with the territory w/ front-wheel drive. Also bought extended warranty from Nissan Motor Corp. Cars been faithfully maintained by the dealer. Theres been at least a half-dozen recalls, all dealer serviced. About one year in, popped a hole in the windshield washer tank. Not covered under extended warranty = $300. Next the horn stops working, electrical short - not covered = $200. Six-disk CD changer - broken - not covered. Next it needed a whole new engine - factory recall, so its covered. But whats next??? Bottom line ... Dont buy this car!!!

BOUGHT THIS LIL GEM FROM A PRIVATE PERSON AT 12K WITH ONLY 7800 MILES. I HAVE DRIVEN HER HARD FOR 2.5 MONTHS NOW AND AM JUST A PLEASED CUSTOMER COMFORTABLE AND EFFICIENT. GREAT STYLING. THE ONLY THING SHE LACKS IS A LITTLE BIT O JAM WHEN I STOMP DOWN ON THE GAS. ONCE UP TO SPEED THOUGH THIS BABY ROCKETS JUST FINE. DAMN THE MAP LIGHTS THOUGH!NISSANS RUN FOREVER TOO!

If you like fun to drive compact sports cars this is your car!! Power is good, especially for the price range. Handling is amazing once again especially for the price range. 6 speed tranny is somewhat clunky but once you get used to it, it works well. Compared to other cars in this price range nothing comes close.

  • Good value for money - 2002 Nissan Sentra

After 9 months and 20,000 miles it has had no mechanical problems. I drive long distances all the time and the Sentra proved to be reliable and comfortable. For $14,500 drive out price, its a great value.

  • best sedan value under 20k - 2002 Nissan Sentra

i got my ser for $17,200. considering what you get for the money: alloy wheels, spoiler, fog lights, sunroof, and sport suspension, this model is a bargain! fun to drive! the automatic has enough pickup, thanks to the wonderful 2.5 liter engine. the four wheel disc brakes stop you on a dime. interior layout is convenient with stereo controls up nice and high on the dash. nice side bolsters on the seats to keep you snug on those hard turns. i love this car!

  • I love my car! - 2002 Nissan Sentra

This has been an incredibly reliable car for me. Ive used the heck out of it, skipped oil changes, bounced over some roads I shouldnt have, and driven the poor thing at over 120 mph on back roads in Colorado. Its been on two cross-country trips. It will be four years in December that Ive owned it, and its been fantastic. The only problems Ive ever had with it were caused by other drivers! It has good pickup for a 4-cylinder and handles beautifully. It also has a great, small turning radius, which makes it very maneuverable when necessary.

  • Great Car - 2002 Nissan Sentra

Same quality as a Corolla or Honda Civic, but less expensive. Ive owned my car for 20 mths and Ive driven it 21000 miles and I havent had one problem with it. It has many great features such as compact disc, auto, air it has enough zip to get you where you need to go safely and comfortably. The best thing about the car is its affordability. I paid $12,300.00 total out the door for my brand new Sentra. I cant say enough good things about the car!

  • Perfect Sport 4-door sedan - 2002 Nissan Sentra
    By -

Since I brought it I had nothing 2 complain bout its fast 4-door sedan, When do see a car that doesnt really needs to hook up with 17in. rims 7 speakers and subwoofer momo sport like seats and fancy shifter and red lightin, great on gas. If U R considerin 2 buy a sprot sedan u should think that it would beat tha prices of, Mazda,Honda,Volkswagen. Plus to note that its in the family or step family of the Nissan Skyline with its SE-R SPEC V engine.

  • Not TOO Shabby - 2002 Nissan Sentra

I thought this car was fun to drive. Great for what you put your $ into. Not as powerful as a V-6 but peppy enough. What can you expect for under $20,000..? This car drives very smoothly. I used to drive a 6 cylinder, so changing over is quite a difference. Backing out is in full view. I havent found a blind spot yet. Want to look for accessories though.. If anyone knows where to find them...??
