Like it so far! - 2001 Nissan Sentra
By Tabbykat76 - November 5 - 10:00 amIve had a Mazda Protege, a Plymouth Neon, and an older Honda Accord. I like it as much as my Mazda that was wrecked. But honestly I would say nothing beats a honda BUT then again for the price a Nissan is a great deal! I got my 2001 w/31500miles for $8000. I guess it helps to buy it at the end of the sales quarter 15 mins till close with a screaming kids in tow with this info from Edmunds in hand. Anyhow highly recommend!

Easy to own - 2001 Nissan Sentra
By Mike - October 30 - 6:50 amWeve had this car since april of 2001. Its been back to the dealer 4 times I think, replaced driver window motor, driver mirror, camshaft sensor, and a recall on the front end, all covered under warranty. Its got 65,000 miles on the origional tires(BF goodrich). Ive put one set of brakes on the front which is normal. Other than that all weve had to do is change the oil, put gas in it and drive it. Nothing is trouble free if you dont take care of it.

I really like but its noisy! - 2001 Nissan Sentra
By Torn Between - May 22 - 10:00 amI recently purchased the Sentra XE model and fell in love with the look of the car. What I found out after a day of driving around town at speeds of 70- 80mph, was the whistling that the car makes. Also, the brakes make an unusual chirpping noise when letting off of brake. I like the car but between the whistling and chirpping, I wonder if I would want to tolerate it for a few years.

Value & Performance - 2001 Nissan Sentra
By nigel - May 22 - 10:00 amA great value car which I bought to replace my aging 1992 honda civic. I was going to buy another honda but only got attitude from dealers. Found much better treatment at nissan and a great product. I think this is the best looking car in its class. The se model offers more power, handling and brakes. Alot of others here have comments about the poor paint quality - to date I have had no trouble.

Reliable Car - 2001 Nissan Sentra
By Gilrich - May 18 - 4:13 pmI like my 2001 Nissan Sentra 2.0, because its easy to maintain and repair. So far it has odometer reading of 160,000 and its still running and sound the same as I bought it 7 years ago. For seven years, I already changed 2 rear hub assembly, fan resistor and 4 tires. I recommend this car, its very reliable if you maintain it regularly. I run average of 120kms everyday and it never gave me headache even a single day.

Lemmonsville - 2001 Nissan Sentra
By Artemous - November 29 - 10:00 amThis will be my last nissan bad weatherstrip all windows, on 5th sun visor, bad window regulator, bad speaker, flaking paint, sagging door, exhaust leak, ETC. What can you expect from a Mexican built car. As many defects as an American car.

New car NIssan Sentra XE 2001 - 2001 Nissan Sentra
By marine11 - October 25 - 2:00 amGood vehicle so far. A little rattly when driving. Leg room in back could be alot better. The car is overall a good car, although the dealership never gave me a owners manual, and will not get me one. I think this should be included in a new car.

Nissan Sentra, A great buy! - 2001 Nissan Sentra
By skutte - September 13 - 8:53 amThis car has stolen my heart with its reliability. My car has 180,000k and it still runs like a new car. The only trouble i had was replacing the breaks and the rotors because the breaks had no squeakers. The Nissan Sentra is a great buy.

Very good first car - 2001 Nissan Sentra
By redcoatjones - November 15 - 2:00 amBought my sentra in 2000. First car I bought myself (post-college), and I have been very pleased. Good gas milage (30-32 mpg), and great handling for a commute up and down the interstate. No major problems, but I had 1 trip to dealer for recalls and had to replace the original tires after only 1.5 years. Recommend for someone who needs a car for commuting. Not recommended for large families or someone who carries lots of cargo.

A Great, Fun to Drive Little Car - 2001 Nissan Sentra
By Nismo427 - November 12 - 2:00 amWhile my particular car suffers from some build defects, its overall performance and handling are way above the norm for this class. The venerable SR20 engine is really strong and when most of the power comes on at 4000 rpm its a rush like no other. The paint in typical Nissan fashion isnt so great, neither is the build quality of the interior, but the overall feel of this car is sure to please anyone out looking for a little fun.
