  • Nissan Has Won Me Over!!! - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder

After driving "domestic" cars for 14 years, I dont think I will ever go back.Started with a 1995 Maxima SE and in a little more than 1 year, was into a Pathfinder. The reliability is bar none. I am so pleased with my truck that every time something new and hot comes out, I just look in the driveway at what I have. Love it. Think Ill keep it. It may be my 12 year olds first car in a few years and I have no doubt that even with over 100,000 miles, it will still be going strong! Thanks for building such a great vehicle.

I bought my 1999 Pathfinder SE used with 89,000 to with replace a 1987 Pathfinder SE 4X4 5 speed with 277,000 miles. This has many more creature comforts than the 87 did. But the 87 was be more trail ready (full frame, skid plates, etc). I too had to replace the struts and shocks. I recently upgraded my tires to a set of All Terrains too. I do need to replace some weather stripping between the doors. The Bose stereo is nice, but the volume knob doesnt work right. I kinda have to pull up some so the contacts work. I also added a Sirius satellite receiver for long trips.

  • If you need an SUV this is the one! - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder

This is my first SUV but likely my last. While this may sound like the start of a negative review, it actually isnt. I really dont need an SUV, I dont have anything to tow around and despite it being amazing in the winter its just not a neccessity. The truth is, I got caught up with the whole yuppy craze with getting an SUV. I am really disappointed with the fuel mileage that this type of vehicle gets. I knew it would be worse than a typical car but I think 15mpg is just unexceptable. The reliability and comfort of this vehicle are fantastic. I looked at all the competition and this is the one to get, if you really need to have one!

I purchased the care new in 1999. Have 180,000+ miles on it and its still going strong. Had to replace struts, ignition and blower motor ... not bad for 10+ years of ownership. Still getting 20+ mpg too! Only down fall is it doesnt have the 3rd row seat ... guess that gives me an excuse to get a new one!

I honestly wish that their was away to express the reliablity of the pathfinder. It is absolutely awesome. I never thought i would love an import.

Highly recommend this vehicle. Good construction and strong value. Plan to keep this truck for until its wheels fall off, which will probably be 7 yrs + from now.

I have always been a sports coupe guy, but since my Dodge Avengers trans. blew I knew I needed something bigger and foriegn; end result-the Pathfinder. This SUV has been an absolute delight to own. It has had little to no problems other than a sticky accelerator and a broken skid plate. At 73000 miles, it is still driving like new.
