  • Nice Pre-Graduation Present! - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder

My Dad bought me this car last year after driving him crazy for it. I love it! The fuel efficiency is whats got me a bit uncomfortable with our current gas situation and all. But I did jump from a 97 Civic to an SUV after all. If youre thinking of purchasing this model - do test drive, test drive! So you can feel the difference for yourself.

  • Transmission Problem - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I have a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder with 62,000 miles on it. It started making these rattling noises and I took it to the dealership. To make a long story short, the transmission is shot and they want to replace it. Which is about $3,000 worth of work. I have read the reviews about quality and reliability before I purchased the vehicle, turns out some of that is untrue.

suv is solid, tight after 150k miles.drives as new.mileage is 16 no matter how fast or where I go. It pulls my 20 cobia boat adaquately. It needs more horsepower.

I have taken the vehicle in for all service as recommended. I have not had any major problems. I truly enjoy driving my Pathfinder. I would definitely buy another one.

The fuel pump failed the third week of ownership and I thought uh-oh. But that turned out to be the last major problem thus far, 251,000 miles later. Most reliable car Ive ever owned. Have used 15w-50 synthetic oil every 6k miles and drain the 4 qt of transmission fluid out of the automatic every 30k and everything still works, except for the CD player. Mileage is now only around 19 with gasohol,

  • OK Vehicle - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder

I have overall been happy with my vehicle. Fuel economy is poor and HP is low, but it is fairly comfortable and has been reliable. My only mechanical problem has been a check engine light that read out as an oxygen sensor failure.

Very happy with the Pathfinder. Currently has 313,000kms and purchased it with about 260,000. Ive had it for about 3 years. Before this I drove a 2010 Subaru Impreza, a good car, but I prefer driving this older Pathfinder more. Its very reliable even the exhaust is original. The struts did need replacing.

  • Awesome SUV! - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder

All I have got to say is that this is an awesome SUV! Bought this car 4 years ago and my wife and I still love it. Nothing like the Acura MDX that we have, but this is the next best SUV besides the MDX!

  • Class leading reliability. - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder

This truck is absolutely a pleasure to drive. Recently pick-up the SE 4WD W/sunroof and Bose stereo system. Class leading Reliability and excellent fit and finish.

  • Great SUV - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder

The only thing I have done to this vehicle, other than routine maintanence, is try to get the wheel shake out at speeds around 60mph. This is a rock solid SUV that looks great and just drives and drives and drives. If you want a vehicle that is dependable and does just what it should, I would highly recommend it. Plus they look so good cleaned up.
