I Love my 1999 Nissan Pathfinder - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder
By nissan_lover1 - May 23 - 7:19 amMy 1999 Path Finder is the second SUV I owned I had a 1995 Jeep Cherokee and the transmission died on me after 6 months of owning that Jeep with only 80,000 miles on it. I absolutely love my Pathfinder I purchased it with 157,000 miles on it already and it still runs strong and starts up realiably every morning and has not failed me yet like that Jeep has.

Great Vehicle - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder
By DRNeffGA - April 29 - 12:10 am50k and never so much as a squeak. Great comfortable transportation. Dont tell my kids that the tube side steps are no good they use them everyday to get in and I use them to wash the roof and load the car top carrier.

I love it! - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder
By Medic1 - January 4 - 7:36 pmI just bought this vehicle and I LOVE it! It has 175k and it still runs strong! There are some problems, nothing you wouldnt expect with a car this old with that many miles but for the price Id say I got a pretty good deal. Lots of power and so much fun to drive. It has brand new firestone tires-cant shift into 2 hi 4 hi or 4 low due to the transfer case leaking and some other leak- so I havent really had a chance to test the 4WD, but its still an amazing car and it starts every morning!

Reliable SUV - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder
By Derek - November 28 - 6:10 pmThis has been a reliable SUV for us. Poor gas mileage has made us trade in our other car to get one with higher gas mileage. The Pathfinder drives more like a truck due to the noise of the motor and low HP. The only two problems we have had are as follows: O2 sensor went out, and the gas tank door broke. Other than that it has been a reliable car. The leather isnt that nice and the display is kind of dated, but what do you expect from a 1999. We dont like the new Pathfinders, so we will probably trade in for a different SUV.

My 1st SUV - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder
By PJKT01 - October 25 - 2:00 amThis is my first SUV, I have been married for 4 years and we have 2 children ages 3 & 2. I had a 99 ZX2 which I loved but it was getting too small. So we decided to go look for SUVs, I first drove a 2002 KIA, and I didnt like it at all. So he said for arouns the same price we have this Pathfinder, I was amazed at all the features it had and the way it rode compared to the BRAND NEW KIA. It was a leased car it was low on miles 52000, Have to get used to spending 25 dollars on gas instead of 15 and getting the same amount of mileage. ALL IN ALL ITS GREAT FOR MY FIRST SUV, I would never get another car again....

Hardy Value - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder
By Joe in Delaware - October 15 - 10:00 amI bought the Pathfinder after my extensive research found Pathfinder has bulletproof reliability, good off- road capability, and ample towing capacity. Also, our past Nissan vehicles have been long lasting, trouble-free vehicles (we got 180,000+ miles on our 240SX!). With our Pathfinder, weve put many enjoyable miles (e.g., highway, around town, and offroad) on the Pathfinder...its roomy, rides well on the highway, and can fit all our luggage plus cart around the family. Overall, we appreciate this versatile, comfortable and rugged vehicle!

Reliable and great in off-road/snow conditions - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder
By erynnjean - August 16 - 1:33 pmI bought my 99 Pathfinder used in 2006 with 109,000 miles on it. Since then I have put another 100,000 miles on it, driven back and forth across the country 3 times and used my car frequently in off road/snowy conditions. I treat my cars pretty roughly, but Pathfinder never gave me any problems. If you are looking for a reliable truck that performs excellently in snow and off road conditions this could be a great car for you. She is a reliable commuter car, but does not get great MPG. Beware, though, the 99 comes in a 99.5 model. This means that finding the right parts can be a bit laborious - it seems as if Nissan mixed and matched parts when they made the 99.5.

Great Foundation - 1999 Nissan Pathfinder
By thewiredgeek - July 17 - 8:50 pmThis car has a great ride around town and on the back road. It cruises comfortably on the highway, but can be a little scary if you have to manuver at that speed. The 4 wheel drive system is great, but you need better tires than stock for good snow and mud traction. A high end all terrain tire in stock size will do wonders for performance. I added a cold-air intake to get a little more passing power, and it was money well spent.
