Overview & Reviews
A 20th Anniversary edition includes the 227-horsepower version of the standard 3.0-liter V6 from the Infiniti I30, as well as goodies like bronze-lensed headlight covers, a body kit, ersatz carbon-fiber interior trim, drilled metal pedals and a number of features normally optional on the SE. This special model also gets an exclusive color: Majestic Blue. A new Meridian package is optional on all Maximas, bundling side-impact airbags and a low washer fluid indicator with heated front seats and side mirrors, as well as special trunk lid trim. Adding optional traction control to the SE or GLE results in a Z Edition Maxima, for some zany reason.
- Silky and powerful V6 engine, sports car moves, room for the whole family.
- Odd styling details, high price, rough ride quality with SE suspension.

quadcamperformance - 2001 Nissan Maxima
By eriktucker - August 6 - 10:00 amI have a Nissan Maxima 2001 SE 5 speed black on black, with a few up grades such as stillen intake, crank pullies, stillen exhaust, progess springs, akebono brakes, stillen strut bars, and advanced timming. I had it up to 152mph at 6100 rpms and it wanted more. I had before this car an Acura Legend 5 speed. I also had a 1990 BMW 525 I automatic. I like the Nissan Maxima by far.

Nice Value - 2001 Nissan Maxima
By John Dillon - August 3 - 2:00 amNice solid, reliable vehicle. I had a 200o Accord Coupe, and am much happier with the Maxima - more room and quieter.

Whats not to like. - 2001 Nissan Maxima
By epedal - July 23 - 10:00 amThe car performs well, corners and accelerates proudly. People look at and like to look at this car. You will be the preferred driver for going out to lunch though.

Beautiful car - 2001 Nissan Maxima
By AceMon - July 11 - 2:00 amI enjoy my car completely and would reccomend them to anyone looking at a new or used car. This is my 2nd Nissan vehicle and have never been stuck by the side of the road with anything worse than a flat tire.

Great Car - 2001 Nissan Maxima
By Don Parkhurst - June 25 - 10:00 amMy fifth Maxima and my next car will be a Maxima. Maximas run great for at least 250,000 miles with normal service. A real value when compared to more expensive cars

Terrific car - 2001 Nissan Maxima
By mary b - June 25 - 10:00 amThis is the best car Ive ever owned. Beautifully designed inside, extremely comfortable, and a blast to drive. Zero problems after 40,000 miles. Only wish it had a little better fuel economy but not bad -- generally 26-28 mpg highway and 22-23 around town. After 3 years it still looks and drives great.

Exceptional Used Car. - 2001 Nissan Maxima
By Zoombag5 - April 28 - 2:30 pmI bought my 01 Maxima SE used in 2004 with 44,500 miles. Now have 106,000 miles after 4 years of driving it. I replaced the A/C compressor & oxygen sensors soon after purchase. Since then the car has been very dependable and fun to drive. All other costs have been maintenance related (brake pads, tires, etc.) I get 19 mpg local and an impressive 27 mpg hwy driving 65-70 mph with 3 passengers & luggage. I highly recommend this make & model. My 2nd Maxima. My 1st (95 SE) was hit & totaled at 9 years & 94,000 miles, but was running like a top until then.

Super Star - 2001 Nissan Maxima
By PES - March 23 - 6:03 amHave had this since new and am completely satisfied! Engine is smooth as silk and has had zero problems in almost 100K miles. Body styling is becoming classic. Smooth ride tight steering great road grip. Only gripe, and thats minor, is the limited turning radius.

The "ultimate highway cruiser." - 2001 Nissan Maxima
By kmessner - March 17 - 10:00 amI drive 150 miles (round trip) to work everyday in my 2001 Nissan Maxima (20th Anniversary Edition). This car is the ultimate highway cruiser. Most of my miles are high speed and the Nissan responds with great performance and handling through all types of weather. I strongly recommend this vehicle to anyone who must travel long distances .... it is fun to drive!

nice ride - 2001 Nissan Maxima
By mayur - January 27 - 1:13 pmFor my first car, I was looking for something reliable, powerful, safe, reasonably priced, and fun to drive. I decided to go with the Nissan Maxima and I have been very pleased with the car over the last couple of months. The car is built very well and is nicely appointed for a 12-17,000 used vehicle. Another thing I like about this car is the body style that sticks to the shape that is very attractive to the eye. Inside the controls are well laid out, and the BOSE system performs quite well. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a well-priced, reliable, and sporty choice for a long term vehicle. I have read many reviews and the car holds up to its rating.
