  • OKay so far. - 2001 Nissan Altima

I purchased the Limite Edition New in 2001. I have not had anyproblems except for the rear drivers window would not go up, and a short time later, the drivers window did the same. Other than that, no problem gets good gas mileage. Have 4cyl, would like more pick up if i needed it, but good with what I have. Not sure I would get this car again, but I am still planning to keep it awhile.

  • Nice car to drive, some changes to be made - 2001 Nissan Altima

I just received the car about 6 months ago and love it so far. Its an overall great car as Nissan is known to produce well-reliable cars. The pros of the car are definitely the fuel efficiency, small compact size, the security of the driver seat and the space this little car has. The only thing that would be great to change is the amount of power this car can put in into high speeds, esp. while merging on the highway or simply having an exhilaration thrill. Wouldnt trade the car for anything else but horsepower could use a hand.

  • Great Car! - 2001 Nissan Altima

What a great mid-size economical car! It is affordable, with fantastic performance (Nissan supplied an ideal engine/powertrain for this model), very good mileage, comfort, sporty luxury, and superb handling. What a pleasure it is to drive.

  • Great Car - 2001 Nissan Altima

I bought this car on 8/2001. So far, so good. The only repair has been the power windows (recall). Mileage is excellent up to 33 per gallon (combined). So far 65K miles and no brakes changed. It is very reliable, I love my car and my plan is to keep my car at least 6 years more. The only thing I do not like is the hubcups and noise from wind against the car.

  • Poor reliability, known problems w/ this model - 2001 Nissan Altima

Seems like a good car overall, but do a search on the "nissan altima intake manifold gasket". Many people have experienced this same problem on this particular model; some have noted the same in their reviews here. A required $600 fix mars an otherwise decent vehicle. The engine is more powerful than other 4-cyls Ive driven, but you pay for it in gas mileage.

  • Great car, except front seats - 2001 Nissan Altima

Great all-around car, but Ive had to put a pillow on the upper half of my seat for as long as Ive owned it. I have the non-electric adjustable seat, with lumbar support and the lumbar is just too pronounced. This car is giving me back trouble. Other than the easily remedied bushing problem on the rear suspension, there are no other issues with this car. Great ride. Good value.

  • Reliable Altima - 2001 Nissan Altima

I bought my 2001 Nissan Altima brand new. With over 120,000 miles on the odometer nothing’s gone wrong with this car so far. I did replace the original hubcaps after 40,000 miles because of the racket they made; aftermarket hubcaps don’t make noise! Otherwise this car has never been back to the dealer for anything except accident repair. I do change the oil & filter every 3000 miles, transmission fluid and coolant fluid every 30,000 miles, so the car is cared for.

  • A decent car to buy - 2001 Nissan Altima

I bought the car as used one. The car is looking great & interior is excellent. The car has power transmission. The audio, CD player is good. No sound inside the car. The car has some problem on the highway, e.g. some noise but not too much. AC is good, heater, power set are easy to manage.

  • As Reliable as it Gets - 2001 Nissan Altima

This is the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. After 4 years, and 50,000 miles, I have had no repair bills other than preventive care. Personally, thats all Im really looking for in a vehicle. However, while the Altima isnt a sports car, when equipped with the 5 speed manual, the KA24DE engine provides plenty of power for day to day driving. The car handles above average for a family sedan. My main complaints are disappointing MPG, and a bit too much wind noise. I also had to replace the the OEM CD Player as it did not play burned CDs. With low operating cost and low initial purchase cost, this would be a great car for college student or people on a tight budget. Highly recommended.

  • Not so bad but can ask for more - 2001 Nissan Altima
    By -

Ive had my Altima for a little over a year now and its been fairly reliable, no major concerns so far. About the rattling hub caps, I bought a set of aftermarker hub caps and they make funny noises as well! Turning radius is horrible. You cant make a tight U-turn to save your life. Gas mileage is okay, all interior features are easy to read and use and the car rides smoothly. The stereo system is good too. Its a good value for the money.
