Overview & Reviews
For 2004, the E-Class wagon benefits from the same full redesign the sedan received last year. A V8-powered version of the wagon is available this year and the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system is optional on both sedans and wagons. Finally, the DVD-based navigation system, which was delayed for 2003, is on the options list this year.
- Sleek and dignified design inside and out, pleasing blend of ride and handling, sophisticated safety features, all-wheel drive available on both sedans and wagons.
- More expensive than competitors, confusing control layout, brakes lack progressive feel.

Worst vehicle - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By worst vehicle tom - August 24 - 7:10 pmAfter owning Lexus and BMW I was excited when MB offered the E500 4- matic. This vehicle has been nothing but a disappointment. The transmission is not smooth and overrevs. At times there is a delay when starting to accelerate that is unpredictable and dangerous. The braking system is noisy and very hard to adapt to in order to come to a smooth stop. The a/c system is a joke. When it starts to run on hot day it revs so loud people outside the vehicle stare thinking something is wrong. I have had this car back to the dealer numerous times and I am always told that is just the way the car is! I would never recommend this vehicle.

the worst car i ever had - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By cindy39 - June 2 - 2:00 amFrom the second week i bought this car. I have nothing but problems. I usually keep my cars for 5 years. I CAN"T wait to get rid of this car. It drives like a pick up truck the rear view mirror fell down. The breaks clunk. What can i say except that the list can keep going,,,I am not happy at all

Over priced hunk of junk - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By phils68 - April 24 - 11:50 pmWarning to other potential buyers: been through 7 recalls on the SBC brakes and other electrical problems. This lousy vehicle needed a wheel alignment at only 6000 miles and the warranty only cover the labor and not parts and guess what? parts costs over $220 to set the steering straight. Pretty pathetic for a pampered vehicle that is only driven on the weekends
