This Year's Model Updates:

The E-Class sedan is completely redesigned this year. A more elegant body, along with more power for the V8 model and more luxury (including four-zone climate control and an optional massaging driver seat), bring the latest midsize Benz up to date. Last year's E-Class station wagon, however, carries over into 2003 virtually unchanged.

Pros:
  • Legendary solidity, effortless performance, state-of-the-art safety features.
Cons:
  • Firm ride for a luxury sedan, touchy brakes.

  • Beautiful Car - Has Some Little "Issues" - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I love my E320 - but it has been in the shop too many times for the same issues. First: the integrated telephone. Dont waste your money! I sound like I have my head in a bowl whenever I use it - and it took out my audio when they installed it. The dealership had the car for a total of approx. 6 wks to get it fixed. Recently brake light malfunction came on. Dealership tried to sell me brakes I didnt need. All that needed replaced was the sensor in the rear brake light. It took almost 2 weeks to get the sensor diagnosed and replaced. Other than that the car is fabulous. MB needs to get their service centers to solidly, accurately support their products.

  • Just for the record - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

We purchased this car a year ago with 10K miles and have driven an additional 14K miles with a few minor issues, but overall this is a great car. This is our first Mercedes and wed buy another without hesitation. In fact, I cant imagine owning anything else. The gas mileage is around 23mpg combined and 30 mpg highway. Its a pure pleasure to drive especially on busy city streets, where it brings a confidence and calm. Overall reliabitly is good as well. Cant wait to get an 07 or 08

  • Love the car - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

In terms of performance, the car is very enjoyable to drive. Its handling is excellent, and the seat comfort cannot be beat. The interior dashboard and controls are far more appealing than the S class, Lexus, and Infinity. Only BMW and Audi come close. I hope its reliability is as good as my first impression.

  • Best ever - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Have owned most styles of American Luxury cars and enjoyed each. The E320, however, is a step above in quality of construction, more than adequate power, feeling of safety, handling and just fun to drive. Will buy another.

I have had my Mercedes for about two weeks and love it! I chose a midnight blue color that is stunning! The cockpit size interior is very comfortable!

Fantastic car. My first MB experience and quite good. Im getting a new one later this year. Same performance as an SL55 with room for 5. Prefer Panorama Roof to an all out convertible.

  • Fix the breaks! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

the cars interior and exterior are very stylish and impressive. the car rides smoothly and feels heavy on the road. its definitely an eye turner with the new re-design. however, it lacks the over quality of mercedes due to many of the "electronic sensing" functions in the car. the brakes are the biggest disappointment along with the lack of acceleration when turning the car and depressing the accelerator at speeds of around 30mph

  • Poorly design and manufactured vehicle - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Nothing but failures, suspension, AC/Heat, computer, sensors, on and on. When running the car is a joy to drive. However, the maintenance expense before and after the warranty is the worst I have ever experienced in all my years of owning cars. The experienced has been nothing but a let down of my expectations of owning a certified pre-owned vehicle with less than 20,000 miles when I purchased it. Definitely has lowered my opinion of the franchise.

  • Regret this choice! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

150 days of ownership, 29 of those days in the shop. I get to live through a slow and painful rebuild of my new car. Doors removed/replaced, all window & door rubber replaced to stop howling wind(still to loud for a conversation) rear door handles replaced, wood trim delaminated, headlights not adj.,glove box door and latch replacement(2), door pocket replaced(Fabric felloff),sunroof leaks, hood misaligne(cant be fxd)bad brakes, auto adj. for seat/strng wheel does not work, teleaid does not work, instrument cluster replaced, wipers replaced (BANGING across windshield) buzz/rattle from every corner. Dont buy this car.

  • The overlooked item - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

We are all raving about the new E320/500. Has any one of you ever looked into the trunk. Yes it is now as large as in a VW, but the spare tire...a donut on a black rimm, What is becoming of MB.And try to get the tire out, you have dismantle the whole trunk.Very disappointing will not buy unless I get a full size matching wheel.
