Overview & Reviews
The E-Class sedan is completely redesigned this year. A more elegant body, along with more power for the V8 model and more luxury (including four-zone climate control and an optional massaging driver seat), bring the latest midsize Benz up to date. Last year's E-Class station wagon, however, carries over into 2003 virtually unchanged.
- Legendary solidity, effortless performance, state-of-the-art safety features.
- Firm ride for a luxury sedan, touchy brakes.

My 2003 Merc - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Rajan - March 2 - 2:00 amDrives well, Brakes superiorly. Lacks a litle space in the back. Maybe another 2 to 3 inces of leg spaces would make it a true competitor to the S-Class.

Proceed with caution - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By good info. - January 23 - 10:00 amThis is a wonderful machine in terms of handling. It is eye pleasing and driving fatigue on long trips is zero. But, it is an electrical NIGHTMARE. Dont waste your money underwriting mercedez R&D. I know the company knows of the drastic electrical problems yet they keep offering the cars for sell without warning. This is not like the Mercedez of old. Hey...who owns this company these days...certainly not a company that cares about the consumer. In 16 months my car has been in the shop more than 10 times for major electrical problems. I think more consumers arent complaining because they are embarassed to tell that a car with this reputation is soo poor.

The big foreign conglamorate? - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By azndude80 - January 19 - 2:00 amMercedes-Benz has always been a symbol of money, German pryde, and quality. However, I start to question this by the day. The new E500 has a decent engine, but I tought it shoudl be better. The inovative interior designs only leaves room for an error, especially the glove compartment. The breaks are little stiff. Evea Toyota Camry has smoother breaks and steering wheel. The exterior is gorgeous except the rims. It looks a tad tacky, which I loath in a Luxery Vehicle. Well at least my S500 is excellent. Tchhh, Mercedes look at what you have done. There was a technology bug with the SRS, could have been fatel if we werent responsible.

Excellent - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By great car - January 10 - 10:30 amHad a BMW in college. Have had nothing but MB since I have grown up. BMWs a little too yuppy for me and for who I see in them. Love this classy, safe, beautifully enginereed automobile. Wish they could get as reliable as Infiniti or Honda and as professional and efficient in the maintainance area too. However, still, driving up in a Mercedes does make a statement and this car is no exception and has a very quiet, well made cabin and its design for safety and engineering is superb. Im pretty sure all the rest of my cars will be Mercedes especially if they can get as professional and efficient and fair in their maintainance and reliability as the Japanese.

2003 E320 RWD - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By jonduro - January 4 - 9:40 pmbought this car with 55800 miles. The interior is very comfortable and stylish. The car is somewhat heavy but the engine has good power. I consistently get 21 city and 29 highway when on cruise control. The looks are ok but the newer models are now better. As far as reliability it has served me well. It goes 10k miles between oil changes. I do take care of car and do not drive it aggressively. It is a cruiser not a racecar. The feeling behind wheel is not great because it is too comfortable and big. Overall is a good car. Keep regular maintenance take care of it. Repairs can be pricey but you do get what you pay or dont pay for.

Good car after kinks - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By AtlantaLady - December 21 - 2:00 amAfter the first 4000 miles, car seemed to have more power and was more fun to drive. Youll look good in it, because it has a beautiful body. I would have bought the highly rated BMW 5301 if the 2003 model looked better.

The Long Road to Happiness! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By sgs1 - October 15 - 10:00 amI looked at all the luxury sedans and the Mercedes was the most impressive. Having owned a Cadillac Seville, and Jaguar XJ8 sedan, I can honestly say the E500 far surpasses them in comfort and performance. My wife currently drives a 2002 Jaguar XK8 convertible and the E500 accelerates faster and smoother. Shhhh, dont tell her, or shell be stealing my keys!
