This Year's Model Updates:

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class receives numerous styling changes, including a streamlined front end. There are also interior tweaks, a new suite of safety technologies and an auto stop-start system. On the diesel front, the four-cylinder E250 Bluetec sedan replaces last year's V6-powered E350 Bluetec. Finally, a more powerful E63 AMG now features standard all-wheel drive and an available S-Model package with more power still.

Pros:
  • Strong V8 engines
  • Smooth and efficient four-cylinder diesel
  • Superb ride
  • Extensive safety features.
  • Wide variety of body styles
Cons:
  • Less involving to drive than many rivals despite potent engine lineup.

Our car had issues as soon as we drove it off the lot, loose parts, noises, uncomfortable seat, rough/unpredictable transmission shifting, and vibration. We did not test drive the car beforehand because we are very familiar with the car having driven several over the years. The first week we had it (and if you have any issues, immediately turn around and get your money back) it was in service, loose parts fixed, two new tires, reprogrammed transmission. Still vibrated, still shifted poorly, so it went back again and again, all four tires have been replaced and the MB "expert" attributes the vibration to "road feel" which is most certainly is not. Car still shifts unpredictably at times.

Picked up my e 350 today .It ia black with silk beige interior it has amg wheel package rear spoiler split rear seats p1 package lane tracking and blind spot indicator package. It is similar to my 2012 e 350 . The front and rear ends are new the shape is the same as my old one .The ecostart take some getting used to , there is a button to shut it off.The look of the car is great ,so is the ride. Some new safety features are standard such as collision avoidance . There is a control to change the ambient lighting in the car . You have a choice of three colors. Really like the agressive look of this car. Cant wait to open it up

Long time MB owner, this E350 has had issues from when we drove it off the lot, the worst issue is the terrible transmission shifting, which is a safety issue when driving at highway speeds. There is an intermittent problem with a long hesitation when you step on the gas to pass or avoid something and the car accelerating. The "premium" leather seats (they are not standard and are not on most cars sold) are very uncomfortable because they pivot above the base, so if you dive in any position other than a right angle the bottom of the seat back pushes into the small of your back. Our brand new car had loose parts and noises which were corrected, but is that what you expect from this car?

  • Never again. - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Bought this car CPO with 10,000 on it in Spring of 2015. Car went to the shop 5 times the summer of 2016 with an AC problem before Park Place MB of Dallas could ever figure it out even though we provided two videos of the noise. Then there is that glorious MB stench from the AC that happens every summer that takes $200 to remedy (This is the second MB we have owned with the same problem). The navigation is a joke. The internet radio operates with the speed of an AOL dial up connection. The drivers seat started coming apart at the seams at 57,000 miles (CPO would not cover it and the dealer wanted $900 for the repair) [Understandable to a point but when both drivers are under 190 lbs, I take issue with their "wear and tear" claim]. Transmission is jerky. Latest issue was a "catch" in the steering that showed itself when driving down a straight road. Any slight little turn of the wheel was met with resistance and dealer could find no issue. We got rid of this thing! Paid $52,000 for it and traded it for $22,500 just 2.5 years later. Horrible resale value on MB. Will never own another one.

  • E400 Hybrid a great car - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I have test driven a lot of hybrid cars and even the all electric car. Finally decided to get the all new 2014 E-400 hybrid. The transition between the hybrid and gas is smooth. The feel of the car is nice & solid. The local driving on hybrid is fun. When signed up with MBrace and MBrace+, the car is even more fun with all the internet functions. I like the voice recognition to input into navi system. My average city/highway is 30 mpg, non-aggressive driving, has some uphill/ downhill.

  • MB Does It Again! - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This is an elegant, thoughtful, well-designed and executed sedan. My chief concern in finding a replacement vehicle was safety. My wife and I were t-boned at high speed by a pick-up truck. It was in our 2010 MB C-300. Under the worst conditions MB design worked without fail. We walked away from the incident a bit shaken but unharmed. Our larger replacement vehicle is beautiful. The E-350 4Matic is understated but handles well with a CDI 3.5L V-6. It handles consistently, without any idiosyncrasies. Look at the AMG if you want a true sport sedan. We desired a comfortable, safe automobile and found it.

  • MB does not live up to its reputation - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I have waited for almost a year to write a review on my 2014 E350 with sport package in order to live with the car for a while and not make any hasty judgements. I have always wanted an E 350 and I regret to say that I am very disappointed. First I would like to say that the car does not exhibit the solidity that MBs are known for. My car has many creaks and rattles from the extensive plastic parts used in the interior. The standard seats are firm, but extremely uncomfortable; more uncomfortable than any car I have ever owned and I have owned over 20 new cars since I have been driving. The sport suspension is overly harsh. All in all very sad for a car costing $61,000. Beware of MB! Still cant wait for the lease to be over. Ill never buy or lease another Mercedes product.

I test drove one of these and wasnt very impressed. The engine under load sounds like an overstressed rental car. If you dont need the space, the BMW 3-series diesel is a much better car for less money. Or take a look at the A6 TDI.
