  • Highly impressed after 12,000 miles - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I have owned the E350 sedan for a year and a half and alternate it between a 2009 S550 and a 2007 BMW 530i. I live in Costa Rica where the roads consist of endless pot holes and hap-hazard patches with undulating curves and steep inclines. The E350 has proven to be a very capable car and is the one I choose for the twisty mountain roads. It is not outright sporty, but extremely agile and confident on the curves and absorbs the rough surfaces without completely isolating the driver, no simple feat considering the coil suspension. The engine and transmission make short work of passing and climbing steep hills and the brakes dont exhibit fade on long downhill treks. Overall, highly impressed.

  • The ultimate car for a road trip. - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Wonderful car for the intended purpose; very happy with the purchase. A most relaxing ride; very comfortable & supportive seats and least amount of road noise I have experienced in a car. Have the premium 2 and sports package. Got 46mpg with cruise control going 71mph on a road trip; around town average ~30. Get well over 500 miles per tank of diesel. Stereo system overall is fantastic, navigation system is a much needed improvement over previous generation and is very good. Engineering is what is expected; best in class trunk size when trunk closes engineered to not pinch the luggage! All season floor mats a must for us; cost extra but are great. Bluetooth works fine & easy to set up.

  • Nice but could use some refinements - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

We picked up this little jewel in June and, to date, have already clocked on 10K. The wife complains about getting in and out of the vehicle but I think it is just right. The car corners and brakes excellent but somewhat sluggish in Comfort Drive or whatever you call it. Should of opted to the V8 version. The interior is well designed and easy to maintain. The body style and appeal is a killer, a real head turner on the road. We are surprised with the lack of road noise especially being a convertible. Great sound system.

  • Great Looking, Quirky! - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Ex-BMW owner here. Since day 1. Wind noise at right rear window. Dealership had it for a week and couldnt figure it out. Really. Maybe isolated to just my vehicle, but very frustrating nevertheless! Great looking car, fantastic lines. Tons of comments from random people. Great interior and interior lighting. Decent if a bit bland on the driving attributes. Light but responsive steering. Inexplicable road hum from tires. Smooth hwy ride, substantial feeling, but at low speeds, occasional trouble finding right gear and can feel it. A few unacceptable and irritating squeaks and rattles already. Only have 1100 miles on the darn thing!

  • Fantastic Diesel - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This vehicle replaces our 2008 E320 Blue-Tec and what an improvement. Mercedes has made great improvements in cabin design and layout, improved the voice command control and greatly improved the navigation and radio manual controls. To top it off were getting 38 to 40 mpg for combined city/highway driving (much better than EPA estimates and better than our 2008) and theres more than enough power to pass anything on the highway. This is a really great vehicle.

  • Beautiful Design; Initial Problems Resolved - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I bought this car because of its truly beautiful lines. The car is a typical Mercedes---solid, airtight, good fit and finish. My car had some initial issues with rough shifting and Mercedes was able to correct the problem to my satisfaction. Overall, I think Mercedes builds solid, well designed cars and this model is a respectable entrant in the mid-size luxury sedan category.

This is the 2011 E-Class sedan with the sport package in obsidian black with grey interior. After some initial problems with the airmatic suspension (replaced rear air springs) and rattles in the rear of the vehicle (replaced seat belt rollers and roller blind system), the vehicle is now unbeatable in style, comfort and performance.

  • E550A Cabriolet - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Traded 2009 Porsche 911 Cab PDK on this. 911 great but rough ride and hard egress/exit. Mercedes is a great all around car. If you really arent ever going on a track, this is the perfect car. Very torquey V8, brisk in normal or sport mode. Tip-in and shifting very aggressive in sport mode. A quality car with great electronics. I have 1400 songs on 1 8.5 Gig DVD, Player will take 5 more!! Transmission is not as good as Porsche PDK, but way more than you need for aggressive road driving. Exhaust note is a pleasure. I think Mercedes gets it, and Im glad I got it!

  • Nice Car - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Have had two Lexus ES350 and one RX350. All were nice, but the RX wasnt the good quality as expected, and was boring. My wife loved the RX, so it took some prodding to change. So far we have 900 mi on the MB E350 and it is much more fun to drive with good quality. Will likely miss the Lexus free maintenance, but this car seems worth it. Very quiet, great music system, nav, etc. The panorama sunroof sold my wife, but it uses a screen to keep out sunlight instead of a solid cover. So in Texas the screen allows some heat through. Keep that in mind. A/C is extremely cold though, so no worries. The Command interface works well for me. Transmission lever is cool but different.

  • Impressive Sport Sedan - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Have had the new car for a little more than a week and am extremely pleased so far. Great blend of luxury and sport. Car feels more substantial than expected for a mid-sized sedan. Airmatic suspension works very well and provides nice option for luxury vs sport in the same car. Interior is incredibly well done. Very comfortable and extremely well appointed with all the current gadgets. Exterior styling is sleek and sporty. Rear end styling could be better, but generally like it overall. Test drove multiple cars/makes including BMW, Lexus, Infiniti, but the Mercedes just simply felt right and IMO had the best blend of true luxury and sporty look and feel. No buyers remorse here.
