Overview & Reviews
For 2004, the E-Class wagon benefits from the same full redesign the sedan received last year. A V8-powered version of the wagon is available this year and the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system is optional on both sedans and wagons. Finally, the DVD-based navigation system, which was delayed for 2003, is on the options list this year.
- Sleek and dignified design inside and out, pleasing blend of ride and handling, sophisticated safety features, all-wheel drive available on both sedans and wagons.
- More expensive than competitors, confusing control layout, brakes lack progressive feel.

Great so far... - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By JohnK - March 7 - 2:00 amIve only owned my E500 for a few weeks, but at this point Im thrilled with it. My previous car was a 2001 BMW 530i and it was great, too, but the solid ride and creature comforts make the E Class a better car to spend a lot of time in. One questionable area is the feel of the brakes. They are difficult to modulate and the pedal is mushy.

Beautiful but Fragile - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By osanchez - February 18 - 6:56 pmI have owned several Mercedes during my life time and I can telll you this has been my worst experience with MB. Three blown tires, broken A arms, broken subframe, bransmission issues and not to mentioned expensive parts and repair costs. This vehicle was made to be driven on air not on realistic day to day roads. I will not recommend this vehicle. Very beautiful but fragile!

You Wont Believe This - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By ex-E500 Owner - January 22 - 2:00 amI got my E500 in October 2003. It was a beautiful and incredibly fast sedan. By February 2004 it would spend a month at the dealer with a bum transmission and audio system. My dealer was terrific and allowed me to trade the car for another E500. The first one I ordered came in with a bad ignition system. Then, finally, Mercedes swapped cars and another car was ordered. This one came in with a bad brake system. By now I had it with no confidence in the E class. Any chance of a refund was between me and M-B. So, with no desire to be David vs. Goliath, I accepted the car after it was repaired and then the next day drove it to my Jaguar dealer for an S- Type.

superb quality - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By gyndoc - January 22 - 2:00 amVery solid car. The seats are in my experience some of the most comfortable out there. The build quality is first rate (as it should be). Finally, Mercedes reputation for safety and durabilty sold us on this car for our family.
