This Year's Model Updates:

This year the CLK's standard eight-speaker Bose audio system is scrapped in favor of a 10-speaker Harman Kardon unit, while the navigation system is now DVD-based. The 320 model gets upgraded standard wheels, and offers a lighting package with foglights that illuminate with the turn signals, or when the steering wheel is turned. The 500's five-speed automatic is replaced with a new seven-speed unit with steering wheel shift controls. Also, ventilated front seats are now optional. The complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Pros:
  • Solid chassis, composed ride, comfortable front seats, fast power top operation in Cabriolet.
Cons:
  • High price, some subpar plastic trim, a few hard-to-use controls.

  • Absolutely Gorgeous, 2nd to none - 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

This car is probably one of the best looking cars on the road. It is a perfect blend of luxury and sportiness. It drives effortlessly, though maintains solid grip of the road. I had the previous generation model before, and the current model has a much stiffer suspension and tighter handling. The cars beauty makes a strong statement of style and is in a class of its own.

Super car and unbelievable that it could be so much better than the 99. Fun car to drive own and it does turn heads as well.

  • head rush! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

What a head rush it is to drive this car! Even at top speeds it floats and is the smoothest ride I have ever experienced. I liken the feel of the engine when stepping down on the pedal to going into hyperspace. This things a rocket! Sure, Ive had little things go wrong but thats what happens when you have such complicated electronics. I would definitely buy this car again even though I paid over sticker because of its rarity and popularity.

  • Love My CLK - 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

I love my CLK500 convertible. It is drop dead good looking, very comfortable, handles wonderfully and has superb power. The interior is gorgeous, with stone colored leather, and the instrument panel is easy to read. The stereo sounds great and the top retracts quickly and is completely out of view. The cabin noise is far less than any of the four convertibles I have owned and is, in fact, lower than many sedans.

  • Great Car!!! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

Black exterior with stone interior - no better combination. I have had this car for two months and am still very satisfied. I have owned several MBs, BMWs and Japanese cars before and this one is the best in terms of quality, prestige and fun factor. There really is no comparison. It is also fast ! I would do it all over again.

  • Mercedes or Ford Topaz - 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

I did not like the body style from the start, but I bought one anyway, fully loaded with everything possible. I paid $97,484 for this car. The dealership went through all the details how to operate the radio etc., but it was very confusing and illogical how to use all the features, I drove this car very little, it was slow for a supposed fast car. I put 130 miles on it and the speedomer stuck on 20MP. Took it back to the dealer, they had to put in a whole new assembly. Did not like this car. It is way overpriced and not easy to see out of or drive. I sold it back to dealer for 65,000 taking a 30,000 loss, better than 50K loss this car is not worth more than 30k.

  • Best CLK Yet - 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

This is my 1st Mercedes. Have been looking for a new car for over a year. Looked at BMW 5 and 3 series and other performance rated cars and have found overall build quality and ammenities of the MB to be far superior to any of these cars. Also ride quality is much more comfortable. The new 7 speed transmission is tops. You literally dont feel this car shift. Car is also a great looker. Get lots of positive complements from many folks. Make sure to get the sun roof if you buy the coupe. For you performance freaks there are alot of aftermarket parts you can get for this car that will bring your performance to Ferrari levels for little additional cost.

Fun and luxurious way to enjoy a ride. Compact and safe, great maneuvering.

  • Ride of your life - 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

I love this car and it may be one of the finest creations Mercedes has ever put on the market.

  • Turn Heads - 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
    By -

Black on black. Beautiful and turns heads. Fast off the line, top operation works flawlessly. Transmission is smooth and operates without any notice. Trunk space is limited, especially with the top down, but adequate for this class car. With top up road noise is less than our E430.
