Overview & Reviews
TeleAid comes standard on every CLK model this year, and the front windows lower slightly when you open the doors and seal (foop!) tight when you close them.
- Sleek styling, solid chassis, composed ride, comfortable front seats.
- Heavy steering, tiny backseat/large blind spots in convertibles, some cheap-feeling interior switches, intrusive traction control system.

My red CLK Cabrio - 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By johnsecter - November 11 - 10:00 amThis is my 3rd Mercedes and I love it. The back seat is large enough for the kids to ride in but you do have to move the front seats up. The handling is outstanding. My combined gas mileage is around 25 mpg.The sound system (Bose) is unbelievable. I recommend it to everyone.

Top Down, Fast Fun - 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By Bnatt4321 - November 4 - 7:46 pmThis car is great. I decided it was time to have a convertible again and this CLK430 has not disppointed. The performance is incredible (although it does drink the gasoline) and it has been very reliable. The ride is very tight and taking corners at speed is like riding on rails. Two downers about this car: 1st: unless you must have NAV, dont bother as the screen is very small and its not very user friendly. 2nd: beware of parking lot curbs as they like to eat up your front spoiler. With that said I bought the car with 40K miles on it and now have 55K. It has been a true pleasure to own and great fun. I am very pleased with this Mercedes.

2001 Mercedes CLK430 - 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By GGrier - September 15 - 2:00 amWhile possessing somewhat heavy steering this car really is an excellent performer. The V8 provides great low-end torque thats always available on command. The word that most comes to mind is "solid". Highway manners are superb even at near autobahn speeds. The voice- operated integrated Motorola v60 phone is a joy to use. The factory installed AMG-style spoiler kit is nice, but prone to damage due to the low front-end. Watch out for those curbs! And other than an absolutely deplorable radio unit (horrible reception) and and trunk-mounted CD changer (frequent skipping on bumps) the car is wonderful!

Wifes tiger - 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By bruceb - September 7 - 10:00 amThis is actually a review of my wifes 2002 430CLK. IT was the 1st red 2002 imported into the US. She loves it and gets great compliments from her girl friends. She too has had the window problem; apparently this is very common. Dealer replaced both sensors and no more problems. Only real negative - road noise is terrible but tolerable. Not like a Lexus or E430. Gas mileage is also poor - not as good as sticker. Otherwise, great car!

By Problems1 - July 28 - 2:00 amHad nothing but troubles. Catylitic converter went out. Speaker problems, rattle in wood trim, EC button problem, ABS problems, malfunctioning key. You get the idea. The car also has accessive ratling.

Total Happiness in Virginia - 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By David B. Bolt - June 23 - 4:10 amAll-around great car, love the handling, and the awesome power is out of this world. Its my first Mercedes and if all keeps going well it wont be my last. Love the wide Terrelli tires, they really grip the road. Love the inteior and easy access to all controls. A CD changer in the dash would be a plus instead of the trunk. Love it when the car turns admiring heads on the open highway. It has quite an appetite for the gas, but the superb handling and overall fun of driving it supercedes that negative. Impressed with the roomy back seat and large trunk space. Overall thumbs up, thank you Mercedes.

By BarkCLK - June 20 - 9:56 pmMy CLK is quick and nimble but feels so comfortable and smooth while cruising. Its solid feel and construction makes me feel very safe and its style is classical sporty elegance. Its just beautiful all around.

Stay away - 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By Moe Kabiri - December 15 - 10:00 amThe car was in shop in total for over two months out of 18 months we owned it. Do not buy the convertible. It is a major problem car. You name the problem the car has it. Some of Cryslers technolgy has managed to slip in the CLK.
