  • Tires are Definitely a Defect - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

I have a 2015 MB C300 4matic, i love the car. The dealer just replaced both side front half axle shafts and the dealer told me I need 2 new front tires, im only at 14,200 miles! MY rear tires are in amazing condition. So I have spoken with 3 mechanics who have said #1 continental tires lately are not lasting as it should nd #2 most likely the defective front aaxle half shafts contributed to both my front tires prematurely wearing. And I only drive highway and never get more than 25mpg! Sticker states 34mpg on the highway so why am I getting 10mpg less, i only use 91 fuel..

I bought 2015 used C300 4matic with leather interior. Ive had it for more than a year and bought it used. It now has 21k . Let me tell you its a great car. No issues so far. I really enjoy driving it. The suspension is sweet and feels your riding on air in the comfort setting. It has this sport/sport+ shifting mode and man the pickup is fantastic even in the comfort mode. The economy mode is not recommended as it feels sluggish (I guess it turns the turbo off and feels like a 2L engine). Its built solid and gorgeous looking in and out. You will need premium gas though. Fuel economy is good for a luxury car. Its in the low thirties, not bad. Stability on corners is excellent. The engine can turn off on stop lights that take too long but you can turn this feature off. Navigation , blue tooth are all great.

  • great car eats expensive front tires evry 8k miles - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

We have a 2015 c 400 that eats the outside edges in 6-8 k miles, inside edge still has 85% tread left . Take it in at 10 k miles when we first noticed outside edge of tires down to cords. I am told out of alignment , even when it tracks straight as a arrow, I have to pay for alignment that proves it is spot on factory settings, Then they say driving habit. Wife drives the car on the same freeway route as she did with our previous c 250 that got over 40k miles on original set of tires. Car currently has 40 k miles on it , brakes are at 70% life left , so not a hard driving issue. .Have been through 4 sets of front tires that I toss with over 85% of tread left on inside edge and centers at 8/32 tread depth and outside edges worn to cords .Only on 2nd set of rears that wear consistent from edge to edge and gave life expected of a super summer tire of 20 k miles If it was a hard driving issue rears would wear faster as well. Run flats at 20 inch size are 500 each !! Car is a poor design and MB will do nothing about it Every service writer knows it is a issue but mercedes usa will not address it and will not do anything about it. Very poor customer service from mercedes usa. ANYONE ELSE WITH A C SERIES 4 MATIC OR ANY OTHER 4 MATIC HAVING SAME ISSUES ??

  • Mistake of a lifetime - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I have had nothing but issues from the moment I leased this car. I can start with it almost locking my 2 year old daughter inside the car, mind you it was in the summer where it reaches 95 degrees on an average day here in south Florida. It locked up on its own with the keys inside sitting in the front seat along with my purse, cell phone and house keys, I was just about to place my daughter in her carseat when this happened. Mercedes charged me $150 on the spot to get it open. It had "malfunctioned" they told me. The gas cap door gets stuck not allowing you to open it to put gas in. I had to drive to the dealership with no gas to get them to open it. The sensors on the cars are faulty and will go off with noone else in the road, they said "yea thats a thing they do." Forget about brining a large item home in the trunk, the car will not drive with the trunk tied open, nor will it drive if the door is not closed all the way, but will allow my 2 year old to open the car door from the inside while driving!!! There are no safety features to notify you of a car in a lane next to you and it has plenty of blindspots. There are many days when the car would brake on its own stopping short in traffic and me almost getting rear ended on several occasions. It is currently in the shop now because the cylinder in the engine has gone bad, and will need to replace the engine. The car hasnt even reached its second birthday. They are telling me that it is due to "bad gas" from the gas station and I will have to go through my insurance and sue the gas station, because it is not covered under the warranty. The list goes on and on, but I would highly recommend not leasing or purchasing this car. I am so thankful that it is just a lease and I am out of the nightmare in a year.

I leased my car in September from mercedes of brooklyn. 1 week later the main screen broke. In the shop for 5 days. Three weeks later front right headlight went out. Another 4 days in the shop. When drive in sport plus mode when gears shift vibration sounds from passenger side rear end. Was told its normal. Then two months no issues. Then the real fun began. Steering was off and making whining sounds. Needed a whole new power steering unit. Then the sunroof broke and wouldnt close from vented position. Brought the car in April 29 multiple conversations with service waiting for parts. Every week I was told a couple days more. 3 months later parts finally arrived. Now trying to get out of my lease all together and go back to infiniti.

  • Good Car not Great Car - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Technology in terms of the Nav system and Key fobs not being syncd to driver 1 or 2 buttons is a bit odd. Also a bit strange that for over $50k you dont get audible rear sensors for backing up. Car handles great though with great acceleration for the turbo 4. So plenty of power and compares well against most competitors in its depending on your personal driving preference. Personally this car strikes a great balance between sport and comfort. I have the Sport package, premium 1 package, multimedia package plus blind spot assist and rear view camera. Oh yes the rear view camera is an optional item that is chargeable. Again for over $50k? Come on MB. Anyway test drive one of these and I think you will be hooked. Still a great car after 16,000 miles. Only challenge are the tires which on the sport package models are staggered sizes, so you can not rotate tires and you will only get 20,000 miles out of the Conti run flats. Can no longer say great. Just can not afford $700 tire replacements every 15k to 18k miles and that is front set only. Then add another $700 for the rears at 20k. Started feeling turbo lag and transmission jerkiness after 2 years. Again ride is great but overall car is just ok and for the price (over $50k) you dont even get leather seats. So have to re-rate car and just say it is a good car but not a great car. Test drove a new BMW-330 and would probably go with it if I had to do it over. In then end traded the MB for a certified 535i and am very happy about my decision to get rid of it

  • MERCEDES C300 2015 WORST CAR OF THE YEAR - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

It is in fact an absolute joke. Dont buy it or lease it because the drivers seat is so badly designed that you are going to end up in the hospital. The front interior of the car is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Theres nowhere to put the cell phone. Youve got to be a rocket scientist to put the a/c on and off. The car also stalls and you cant start it again. Also the power steering randomly freezes with no warning and you are stuck until it decides to work again. I have driven all the cars in my life and this car should have never been on the market. There is not much difference with the 2016 C300. DONT BUY IT. THE MERCEDES C300 IS THE WORST CAR OF THE YEAR. TONY

  • Drives great, but has some irritations - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Update: 16k miles I am enjoying the car a lot. The engine, transmission and suspension are 1st class. MB fixed my complaints free under warranty: Gas door, sunroof. AC is still icy. I purchased this car because the reviews were so good, it has the latest tech (Its screen rocks) and I get 34.6 mgp to work. It is quiet and always finds the right gear. When pushed hard it is predictable and well composed. Irritating: sunglass storage will spit your glasses back out, pain to go between functions in infotainmet-really a pain, A/C is always icy, mix of quality and cheap materials, serious lack of useful storage. I opened the hood then could not close it, gas cover is pain to close, head rest started rattling after 4 weeks, there is a loud ding every time you open the door, the seat backs are cheap, the headliner is cheap, floor mats are cheap, the trunk lid is not balanced and does not close well, rear sun shade not opening all the way after 2 weeks, remote window open never works. All the little things kill this car for me. I had 2 Infinitis and never had so many problems in 15 years as I have had in 3 months.

  • Research before buying - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Stunning interior, good stereo, stylish exterior and average performance. The bad.....Brakes with the AMG sport package will make a loud, disturbing noise when both weather and brakes are cold. Dealer says it is a known problem, MB USA confirms but does not have a fix. Opened a case with MB USA and they wont answer. Many complaints about this on forums. The noise is so loud that neighbors inside their homes have looked outside when I leave for work. Very embarrassing. Stay away from the black MB tex interior, it will sweat out a white waxy residue wheny it warms up in cold weather. If MB would stand behind their product, I would recommend but they dont. Buy a BMW.
