For 2015, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan is fully redesigned. It's longer and slightly wider, with a roomier and more stylish cabin trimmed in top-quality materials. New engines also debut. The C-Class coupe carries over with minimal feature changes.

  • I have never hated a car I owned or leased before! - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

    This is my first Mercedes. Where do I start with this dangerous and poorly designed car? 1. By putting the gear shifts from the center console (in most cars) to the wand, that used to be the windshield wipers, I have actually shifted the car accidentally into Neutral when it started to rain(thinking it was the wipers) while driving on the highway! Luckily it wasnt Reverse!!! 2. In the summer, when Ive gotten into the hot car, I have actually gotten BURN MARKS on my right arm, while placing it on the center console as I was about to select a radio station. They trimmed the console with REAL metal ...it felt like I had put my arm on a hot frypan! 3. The dashboard controls for defroster, A/C, temperature control etc. are all exactly in a line and feel the same...there are no indentations or separations. So when youre driving at night and you need the defroster, you cant feel which one it is...and even when you find it, you still HAVE TO TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD a second time, to look up at the screen, which is placed to the right of you.... just to make sure you have selected the correct control. 4. The drivers seat is not only uncomfortable, but I have been in physical therapy since July 2015 (a few months after I leased the car) and I am still in P.T. April 2017) because it has caused me nerve pain in my neck and right leg. I have to lift my right leg very high to get over the threshold as I get into the car, and then FALL into the seat and adjust myself. I realized that after the first few months the constant lifting and adjusting have been the cause of the nerve pain. 5. The power seat adjustment ( not the memory adjustment) that you generally find in most other cars,when you slip your left hand down along the side of your seat, to move forward and backward...has been moved to THE DOOR. Wow! I thought it was so clever...BUT this ergonomic design is dangerous! If you want to make a slight adjustment up or back,when youre wearing a thick coat or just want to move back a little, you must remember to do it while the door is closed. If you need to adjust it once the door has been opened, you must REACH OUT BY HOLDING ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL with your right hand and move the seat positions with your outreached left hand. I had the door swing back on my left ankle because I had already put my left foot out of the car...I got a CONTUSION under my skin for months from the door slamming onto my ankle! 6. Now we come to the gorgeous center console...the entertainment center (I thought it was beautiful when I was looking at the car in the dealers showroom). They designed two choices for you. One is a turning dial and the other is a "swipe" selector. Well, that "swipe" method CHANGES MY RADIO SELECTION whenever my handbag or arm slides over it (Example: as I am putting my bag down on the passenger seat). Frustrating and annoying! 7. The most concerning issue with this car happened twice... it SURGED as I was pulling up to a vertical parking space in front of a store. I stopped the car inches away from crashing threw the glass window of my pharmacy...I had driven my car onto the sidewalk! That happened in June two months after I got the car. It happened again in January, as it surged and nearly went up on the sidewalk at the school I volunteer at...both times I managed to apply the brake to stop it. I SPOKE TO THE MERCEDES MANAGEMENT TWICE...once to the service manager after my arm got burned July, the summer of 2015, and about month after that to my Mercedes salesman , about all these issues...I was told the manager would call me...he NEVER CALLED ME. I want to end my lease, butthe car salesman felt I had too much time left on my lease. I dont believe I can prove I am in P.T. because of the cars threshold. Has anyone else had any of these issues with this car??? UPDATE: September 23, 2016. I was told by my salesman that the Mercedes-Benz manager would call me shortly after I wrote the original review, but in all of these months Ive never gotten any contact at all. I guess Ive given up calling or talking to them, since I dont think I can prove that I have been in physical therapy since July 2015 because of the seat design and also having to lift my right leg over the threshold ( causing me to literally fall into the drivers seat). That repetitive motion, over the first few months, caused nerve pain from my lower back down to my right knee. All the other issues I listed are the same...I still have problems with all of them and Im actually afraid of this car ! I am hoping to get rid it when my lease is closer to 20 months old. I am thinking of several other car brands: maybe BMW or Acura. UPDATE: October 2017. Nothing has really changed, still in physical therapy...EXCEPT Ive gotten closer to finishing my lease. HURRAY!! I can hardly wait to get rid of this poorly designed "luxury" car!

  • Loud Piercing Noise Coming From Breaks - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

    MBUSA knows about the issue that is out there with these cars and has no fix. Not only that, they gave us no make-good offer and expect us to drive the car with a gut wrenching loud piercing noise coming from the front of the car. Bad car, bad, company, bad service.   • 5 out of 18 months in the shop - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

    My car was rear ended. Parts had to come from Germany. 2 months and one more to repair the car. Ordered every option. 19 of them. The ventilated leather seats are horrible. The leather is worse than an Honda Accord. The distronic plus works only on occasion. Radio stop working and 5 months later finally getting another one. Mileage at 55 MPH an amazing 44 Miles per gallon. Ive had 3 recalls , 3 pressure gauges replaced. Run flat tires are horrible. In talks with MBUSA on lemon law. I traded a 2009 C with every option and 95,000 miles for this one. Worse mistake ever.. Update. I have had to hire a law firm. The car has been in service now 48 days. Its going in again for electronics problems. Im fighting MB on the Lemon Law. They offered 2500 off of any new car I wanted of theirs and thats it. The lemon law is 30 days and they have to return the full amount. I will never own another MB product as long as I live. I hate their product. I changed from using Helms Bros in Bayside, NY to Ralleye Motors in Roslyn. Both places are awful. I took my car into Ralleye because my rear sensors were not working right. They said the car was in an accident and needed $1800 worth of parts to repair the problem. I called the collision place who said bring the car in. I did and 2 days later it was perfect and has been. Centain cell phones have a software problem with the Bermeister radio now in the MB. The cell phone will make the radio and GPS inoperative. You have to turn off the phone to recycle it. When I went to Ralleye with the problem they chased me out. I then went to the service manger Doug and he said because I did not allow them to repair the car the last time I was not welcome there. I asked him would you spend 1800 + on the repair if it was still under warrenty and he said no. I then asked why I cant come in and he said I dont want you here. Ralleye is so large that they feel they are like GOD. I would never recomend them to anyone again ever. They are awful. Oh, one more thing. They charge $168.00 per hour to work on your car if its out of warranty.

  • Mistake of a lifetime - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

    I have had nothing but issues from the moment I leased this car. I can start with it almost locking my 2 year old daughter inside the car, mind you it was in the summer where it reaches 95 degrees on an average day here in south Florida. It locked up on its own with the keys inside sitting in the front seat along with my purse, cell phone and house keys, I was just about to place my daughter in her carseat when this happened. Mercedes charged me $150 on the spot to get it open. It had "malfunctioned" they told me. The gas cap door gets stuck not allowing you to open it to put gas in. I had to drive to the dealership with no gas to get them to open it. The sensors on the cars are faulty and will go off with noone else in the road, they said "yea thats a thing they do." Forget about brining a large item home in the trunk, the car will not drive with the trunk tied open, nor will it drive if the door is not closed all the way, but will allow my 2 year old to open the car door from the inside while driving!!! There are no safety features to notify you of a car in a lane next to you and it has plenty of blindspots. There are many days when the car would brake on its own stopping short in traffic and me almost getting rear ended on several occasions. It is currently in the shop now because the cylinder in the engine has gone bad, and will need to replace the engine. The car hasnt even reached its second birthday. They are telling me that it is due to "bad gas" from the gas station and I will have to go through my insurance and sue the gas station, because it is not covered under the warranty. The list goes on and on, but I would highly recommend not leasing or purchasing this car. I am so thankful that it is just a lease and I am out of the nightmare in a year.

    It is in fact an absolute joke. Dont buy it or lease it because the drivers seat is so badly designed that you are going to end up in the hospital. The front interior of the car is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Theres nowhere to put the cell phone. Youve got to be a rocket scientist to put the a/c on and off. The car also stalls and you cant start it again. Also the power steering randomly freezes with no warning and you are stuck until it decides to work again. I have driven all the cars in my life and this car should have never been on the market. There is not much difference with the 2016 C300. DONT BUY IT. THE MERCEDES C300 IS THE WORST CAR OF THE YEAR.   • My Mercedes C400 is the Worst Car Ive Ever Owned - 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

    Ive owned my Mercedes C400 for less than a year. Best car Ive ever driven. But like anything with astounding beauty and pedigree, its simply too high maintenance, too cold, and now, too unreliable to be practical. From issues with components not properly installed on delivery, door seals unraveling a week into ownership, two recalls, a lack of comfort in the cabin so extreme I don’t drive the car long distances, an engine stall in the street (sans key), service issues, and finally, total unreliability and failure; my C400 experience has been pretty disappointing. Id wait at least a few more generations before touching this model-- the glitches can be severe! Intuitive? Its smart enough to drive without a key within twenty feet, and stupid enough to stay in start mode and drain your battery, without any active attempt to start the car or even be present in the car for up to five (5) hours. How smart is that. Dont let your kids touch that button! I found out. After meter parking the car in NYC, and returning several times to re-load the meter and re-display my ticket inside the car’s dash window, locking the car every time, yet the car remained in active start mode until the battery died, with no error or warning message. Smart would be something different. If there is no active start (after pressing the start button) after a period of time--perhaps this super smart car should inform the occupant, via its intuitive messaging system (no one but Mercedes can decode your car— so they tell me-- hows that for transparency), that if no ignition is attempted within X period of time, the power will terminate, and preserve battery life. Now, that would be smart. The C400 is not that smart. At less than 3500 miles, the battery died and two attempts (one of which was by Mercedes) failed to remedy the problem without dealer interference, some 60 miles and three days away. Think about that. You are stuck in the middle of no where (to you, anyway), with a dead battery-- which can happen to anyone. Mercedes roadside assistance fails to charge the battery or offer any other diagnostics on the car, and leaves you to tow to their dealership, where only they can remedy the issue. Why? The C400 apparently needed an extra long charge, longer than another motorist, a tow truck or their own roadside assistance could seem to achieve when they attempted to jumpstart the car-- the electronics wouldnt even activate but to unlock the doors and leave them disarmed. A stalled battery is one thing-- and arguably my own fault. But who wants a car so smart it wont take a charge from anyone but Mercedes? While I believe the battery had, in fact, juiced itself into a coma, I also believe something went array with the car’s electrical and computer system, and the error was one that only Mercedes could clear. How’s that for holding yourself accountable. I had another safety issue with my Mercedes C400. One morning as I was rushing to work, I got in the car (kids in tow), started her up, and reversed into the street when the car stalled. Realizing I forgot my key, which was some twenty feet away, inside my house, it dawned on me how incredible it is that I was able to start my car and pull into a busy street, with no key in close proximity. After a recent trip to the dealership, this was corrected, it seems but the service manager refused to disclose it had been an issue to begin with. My dealership (the worst luxury dealer Ive ever encountered) insists there is nothing wrong with these cars and sales are robust, yet I have never seen another C400 on the road in my area. Seems to me Mercedes has some work to do in refining this model. I hope Mercedes will proactively recall any C400s with a safety issue and correct any defects in its messaging/electrical systems, if found, of course. Safety should be their top priority. Back to Audi. Tail between legs. Sigh. BTW, I offered my C400 back to the dealership (with less than 3500 miles). Not surprisingly, they passed.
