Overview & Reviews
The MPV has been completely redesigned from top to bottom. Several unique features, like hinged rear doors and all-wheel drive, have disappeared. At the same time, items like roll-down windows in the sliding doors and tailgate seating in the third-row seats certify the MPV as a standout vehicle.
- Some innovative features, excellent road feel and driving position, optional sound system rocks.
- Weak and unrefined drivetrain, not as roomy as Grand Caravan, Odyssey or Windstar.

No Title - 2000 Mazda MPV
By Terri1191 - July 12 - 10:00 amI am very happy with it and would consider purchasing another one. Really wanted the Mazda SUV, but it wasnt available at the time. The only problems that I have are the power and gas mileage. It has a hard time making it up some of the hills in the area. And, the gas mileage is terrible. Other than that, I am pleased.

The Car that Died - 2000 Mazda MPV
By Brodnick - May 26 - 2:00 amDo Not Buy this Car I recently purchased the Mazda MVP 2000, what a mistake. My children were getting bigger and needed more space from our Volvo V70, so we decied we should go for a minivan. One thing we learned, just because you get all the extras, leather seats, wood interior, 6 cd, etc. doesnt mean its a good. In FOUR years we have 4 transmissions! It is redictualous, and to top it off the people at the dealer are such morons! I could not even get a key made! So in the end we are going back to reliable Volvos, and purchasing V70.

Great Mini Van - 2000 Mazda MPV
By mdg171 - April 11 - 10:00 amVery pleased. Love almost everything about the vehicle. Doesnt seemed underpowered as I have read other reviews. Only complaint is not much leg room in rear seats, but this is a mini van. You wont go wrong with this vehicle. Good gas mileage, not great.

Mazda MPV - 5years Old - 2000 Mazda MPV
By EMSKLB - March 7 - 3:43 pmWhile I was happy with the MPV early on, it appears things are beginning to fail at the 5 year and 90,000 mile mark.

Great minivan! - 2000 Mazda MPV
By moonkitty - July 6 - 2:00 amThis has been a great van for us. Have the towing package. Pull the boat or the camper with no problem. Seems to have enough power although in Poconos on the hills a bit slower. The 3rd seat is great because it folds down. Also the ease in taking out one or two seats in the second row. With 3 kids we take out 1 seat in the second row to pack all our stuff and have even taken out both seats and have so much space.

2000 Mazda MPV LX - 2000 Mazda MPV
By Michael Oglesby - July 1 - 10:00 amThis vehicle is wonderfully designed and fun to drive. It features a sleek exterior look and a sporty interior look with the wood-look trim. It is different than most minivans.

Wish Mazda 9 were imported - 2000 Mazda MPV
By Ken - May 19 - 6:26 pmBought this van new, fully loaded for about 25,500. No significant problems. Approaching 100,000 mi. Starting to look for new people mover. MPV is still being made in Japan under Mazda 9 badge. Unfortunately, Ford is trying to get you to buy higher priced Flex, and forced Mazda to drop import. Nothing else on market carries the easy handling, small size, multiple flexibility, and comfortable ride. I still get compliments on the smooth ride.

This Van is the WORST EVER! - 2000 Mazda MPV
By Sue - April 4 - 7:50 amThis vehicle is the worst car I have ever owned. We have had to replace the starter, alternator twice, 2 batteries, ABS sensors, drivers side motor that operates the windows, brackets that hold the rear gate up when open, heating/cooling pipes, and 3 transmissions. Most of which has left us with no vehicle while repairs are being done, and no offer to pay for a rental, and note that most repairs take a minimum of 2 days. Some longer as parts have to be ordered from China or Japan or someplace like that. This is the worst experience EVER! Also note that this is our only vehicle and we have 4 children who all involved in activities, not to mention the things that must be done.
