This Year's Model Updates:

For 2010, the Mazda CX-7 gets a refresh that brings a new SV trim level, a new base engine, higher fuel economy for the turbocharged engine, a revamped interior and a new face that shows off Mazda's bigger, happier grille.

Pros:
  • Sporty handling, strong performance from the turbocharged four-cylinder, solid build quality, attention-getting design, excellent safety ratings.
Cons:
  • Below-average interior utility, turbo engine is thirsty and its power delivery is not as smooth as that of V6 rivals.

  • Reliable Mid Size SUV - Almost Perfect - 2010 Mazda CX-7

Mazda has got it right. CX-7 is a reliable compact SUV. Drive feels solid. Much work & thought has been done on the interiors. Very well placed buttons. Good Cargo space. I have owned the car for 3 weeks and it is a pleasure to drive the car.

Spent a lot of time reading reviews before purchase. This thing is flat out fun to drive. It may not be a sports car or be the fastest thing on the road but the 2.5 motor WILL get out of its own way. There is plenty of get up and go for my liking. The ride is a little stiff, but thats a nice trade off for how well this thing handles in the corners :) There is very little body roll. The gas mileage is decent, 23-24 so far with my average driving and better on the highway. The seats are little hard but more I sit in it, the more I like it. And the CX-7 is got great curb appeal. Nicest vehicle Ive owned yet, and Ive owned a few.

Drove the Honda CR-V, nice drive train but too small. The Subaru Forester has the best interior quality but needs another gear. The Mitsubishi Outlander tested fine except for the (cheap) Goodyear tires which gave every Outlander the shakes, the interior quality and design is a nightmare, other than that loved the power-train. The Ford Edge is way over priced and the Chevy Equinox is expensive and plain ugly. None pleased me for the money until we tested the CX-7 which has the looks, drive-train with the turbo and 6 speed is very smooth and feels like a strong six. The interior is nice and the exterior is very nice also. The Mazda for the money was best, finally after three years of looking

  • So far I like it - 2010 Mazda CX-7

Have only owned this vehicle a little more than a month. Initially was a little concerned that it might be a little underpowered, but that is not the case. Transmission and engine combination seem to get the most in terms of performance and MPG. Handles nicely. Only concern may be the stock tires. They ride ok & no issues so far, but when I replace, would probably look at something with a little wider foot print. Interior nicely laid out and comfortable for up to 4 adults. Stock stereo is decent with a little reduction in bass and treble settings. Back seat legroom is the only area where its a little tight, but acceptable. All in all, fun to drive and a lot of bang for the buck.

Took delivery on 10/1, drove it for 3 hours. Acceleration is solid and interior is better than most cars selling for $50K+. Reminds me of the Audi Sedans. WARNING: Rear visibility is poor for first time drivers. Do not play with the stereo buttons at night time, too many buttons to play with. Gas mileage driving @ 80-85mph seems to be around 20-21 mpg. Had my first Mazda in 1991 gave it to my sister in 1995, she drove it til 2003, 150K miles. Mazda engine reputation is solid.

  • Great Value - 2010 Mazda CX-7

As a previous owner of the Lexus RX330 I find the CX7 more fun to drive and definitely more technologically advanced. The Grand Touring is full of fun features that any gadget geek will enjoy.

Initially test drove sedans from toyota, honda, mazda but went to buy crossovers due to added functions as well as fuel efficiency very much comparable to a sedan. 2010 CX7 is better than 2009 CX7 in terms of fuel, and after driving Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4 find it very smooth, stylish and less costly.

Traded a 2007 CX-7 for this car. What an improvement-Quieter, More Supple (less harsh over bumps) Bluetooth. Less Turbo lag. The 2007 was very reliable I expect this to be as well. This is a great value and as much fun as an SUV can be.

  • Great Sports SUV - 2010 Mazda CX-7

Straight out of the showroom, this sweet engine gave me 27.8 mpg while driving both city and highway miles. Its gutsy, sleek, well made, and exceptionally responsive. Compared the Scion, Honda Element, Rav4, Mazda 3, Saturn Vue, and chose this car. My expectations are high and it delivers. At my fingertips are great, useful features, plus it earns high safety scores, and has excellent cargo room. Ive owned pickups, vans, station wagons, a jag. This vehicle capitalizes on the best features of each of them. Its sporty, handles on dime, can haul big stuff, has plenty of guts. Cuts through Michigans snow, doesnt lose its grip on slippery roads. Im so happy I bought a CX7!

  • MY CX-7 - 2010 Mazda CX-7

My CX-7 was in an accident which blew out both of my left tires. I did not even feel a jerk during the whole collision. My 2 yr old daughter and wife were also in the car and none of them felt anything except a loud noise. The CX-7 proved itself to be an excellent choice. It is rock solid SUV that handles extremely well and shows well.
