This Year's Model Updates:

For 2010, the Mazda CX-7 gets a refresh that brings a new SV trim level, a new base engine, higher fuel economy for the turbocharged engine, a revamped interior and a new face that shows off Mazda's bigger, happier grille.

Pros:
  • Sporty handling, strong performance from the turbocharged four-cylinder, solid build quality, attention-getting design, excellent safety ratings.
Cons:
  • Below-average interior utility, turbo engine is thirsty and its power delivery is not as smooth as that of V6 rivals.

  • Love the Car-Real Value for Money - 2010 Mazda CX-7

We bought it as a second family car after lot of research by me, my wife & kids who have an eye for stylish things. We test drove CRV, Tiguan, RX350, RAV4 and so on. I was driving a CX9 rental for 2months and loved the car but its fuel economy always put me off. One day driving past Mazda dealership, I saw the 2010 CX7 on a pedestal outside the dealership and loved its looks. Went inside and had a look at the interior that was very impressive. Dealer offered a test drive to my house and my wife & kids made an instant decision to buy this. Been using it for 4 months and love every minute of it. Has helped us a lot in hauling everything from lawn mower to formal area furniture - love the space

Overall, I like the car a lot. My biggest concern is that the windshield gets really foggy to the point that forms water droplets in the inside of glass. Another issue is that when I close the window in the auto mode, sometimes it opens half way by itself (both driver and passenger windows).

  • 2nd CX7 - 2010 Mazda CX-7

My 2nd CX7 and I love the redesign for 2010. At first I thought what is with the mini navigation screen, but I will admit its highly functional and actually easier to use than the full touch screen the 07 has. More bang for buck than a Murano or Venza and much better styling than a CR-V or Rav4. Saved a lot of Money staying with Mazda and not sacrificing any amenities in the process.

  • Great Car - 2010 Mazda CX-7

Ive had mine for almost 2 months now. After heavy research & about 8 test drives of various cars, I decided on the CX7 because the exterior design was good and the interior design was GREAT. The turbo & sporty performance was instantly fun to drive. AWD rules in the snow. Gas mileage is the only real negative for the car. If the mileage were improved I would say the car is a 10 value. Due to the mileage I give the car a 7.5. It is also a little harsh on bumps. All that being said though, for the price, it is a great value; a lot of features in a very nice package. I drove an audi a6 before so I wanted something with a pleasant interior that reminded me of the audi and this accomplishes

  • 2010 Mazda CX-7 Misery - 2010 Mazda CX-7

I purchaed a new CX-7 in Sept 2010. There are major flaws you need to be aware of before you buy. I learned the hard way and ended up trading the vehicle for a Nissan Murano. 1. Excessive road noise during highway driving. My wife & I commented to each other we needed ear plugs to drown out the tire noise. Apparently, Mazda did not sound proof the undercarriage. 2. Air conditioning is inadequate during hot summer days. We live in Georgia where the summers get hot, and the air conditioning system in this car cant keep up, not even close. So between the road noise and lack of a good air conditioner, the comfort factor is very poor, so poor I had trade the vehice.

  • Bad idea just saying - 2010 Mazda CX-7

I bought one that has 80,000 sounds great right. Nope 6 months after having it turbo charger went out. Cost a pretty penny. Then because i drove on it to far the whole engine needed replaced. After 3 months in the shop i finally got my car back. Now when i drive the wheel alignment? sounds annoying. And makes werid jurk pulls while accelerating. I love this car but the problems that it comes with is disappointing. Wish you any luck with this car.

  • Excellent value! - 2010 Mazda CX-7

I looked at all the compact SUV in the price range, and before deciding on the CX-7, CRV and RAV4 were my other final candidates. Simply put, CX-7 just felt more expensive. It offeres a combination of style, refinement, and driving pleasure that is very rare in this class. In addition, where else can you find power and heated seats, rear view camera, auto A/C, moon roof, and bluetooth all for $25K. Yes, the CX-7 can use more room and power, but it never felt slow in my daily communite, and it is large enough for my family of 4 plus a 120LB dog. CX-7 looked stunning inside and out, and you probably wont find another same car in the same parking lot.

  • Luv My CX 7 - 2010 Mazda CX-7

I too have had my car a 1 1/2 months and I luv it! I get more compliments on the color (black cherry!) than anything else. Luv the "handsfree" device. I have the Sport i and it is equipped with Sirus radio, but I opt. not to use it; I use bluetooth audio (connected to my Blkberry) instead, and listen to my Pandora; saves about $12.0 bucks a month. One small draw is the leg room in the back...not good for a tall person.

  • Do Not Buy This Vehicle - 2010 Mazda CX-7

My 2010 Mazda CX-7 blew the turbocharger at 5,600 miles. It took more than a week to repair, and it hasnt run right since. I traded it in, because of concerns for my safety. Its a nicely styled, beautifully appointed car, but after I bought it, I discovered that problems with the turbocharger are relatively common. It also doesnt hold resale value. It was difficult to trade it in, and the whole thing cost me about $9,000.
