Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Lemon? - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Eleanor - June 6 - 12:23 amI bought a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with a 4.7L engine in February of 2009. It had odd electrical issues - the message center would constantly tell me to "service the 4WD system" but I never used the 4X4 and the rear passenger side window wouldnt roll up after being rolled down. And the car got terrible gas mileage! My previous Jeep, a 1999 model had gotten great mileage and I never had problems with it. It was a great car! Then my boyfriend totaled my 05 Jeep. To replace it, I decided on an 05 Limited with the 5.7 (Hemi). And this new one stinks too! Gas mileage is even worse, and the passenger side window wont roll up. Plus, the car leaks when it rains. I used to love JEEP!

Almost Bought a Land Rover - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By REM - June 4 - 11:53 amWhat makes the Jeep Cherokee so amazing is how the smooth shifting transmission is combined with a throaty and decently powered V-6. The content and build quality blew the Land Rover LR-2 away. And, the no-nonsense traditional Jeep styling will ensure it never goes out of style. Sorry ladies, but this is the only mid sized SUV that doesnt look like a soccer moms car.

Mines been very good - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Like MY Jeep - June 1 - 9:23 pmWow, I cant believe how lucky Ive been. My Grand Cherokee Ltd has been great with only the brake issue ever a problem. Ive been through 2 sets of rotors and pads in 4 years. I drive it fast and hard all the time and love the way it handles except for the side to side rocking over bumps which takes some getting used to. I have the 6 cylinder and AWD (not Quadra that came with the V8s) and my mpg seems to hover around 16-17 except in really cold weather when it drops to 14. Tows my 20 boat with ease. Upright comfy seating, leather is high quality, midsized (think station wagon). I think its better looking (the 99 version) than the latest model. I liked my 93 Grand Cherokee Limited too. Guess I knew what I was buying.

I love this car - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By janlaw - June 1 - 3:18 amI love my 2014 JGC Summit. It drives so smooth and quiet. The bigger touch screen is great and makes it easier to see the maps. The sound system is the best I have ever had in a car and love it. The handling is so sweet, corners well and it has plenty of pick up and go. The gas mileage is so much better than my old Hemi. It looks beautiful on the outside and inside. I feel pampered and spoiled to say the least. A fun and great SUV to own. I say get one and enjoy it.

decent - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Tyre - May 29 - 8:36 pmI have an 04 Jeep standard 6 cyl. When I first got the car I was siked! But for some reason Ive noticed that the breaks squeal, and when you turn or go over a bump, it almost everytime feels like youll do a rollover going around a bin at 40 mph, which isnt good. :(

Continued Problems Time after time - 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Brian - May 28 - 6:24 pmAfter discussion with many jeep drivers, I was excited to get into one. I bought the 2016 Grand Cherokee Limited Edition 75th Anniversary Edition. After three times into the dealership for the same issue, we finally settled on it being a lemon. Heres the problem. The CAM sensor doesnt work and at the ignition start sets off your engine light and other issues. There werent parts to fix it and had to wait. Finally was able to get into a 2017-same edition thinking it was just this one. After only owning for one week, back in the shop with the exact same issue. They fixed it by putting in new diffusers. I have been back on the road for less than two weeks, same issue has come up again. Two brand new jeeps and the same issue. They say there arent issues with this edition but seriously, two in less than a year with the exact same issue. I have been patient and trying to work with the dealership on this. I have lost all confidence in the jeep brand. Great to hear that so many individuals out there are having a great experience with the brand. It just must not be for me. Watch out for the 75th edition release.

Regret - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Sil_Virginia - May 28 - 10:00 amWhen you see the Jeep service manager more often than many members of your family, something is wrong. Power window motor broke twice, brake rotors warped three times, radiator fan broken, etc.
