Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

The Best One Yet - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By A319 Jeep Pilot - November 25 - 8:13 pmThis is my 3rd Grand Cherokee and by far the best. Highway mileage is 22.5 and around town 19. The seats are a big improvement as is the handling and build quality. A pleasure to drive. 10 times better than the 2000 model. I currently have 12,000 miles tallied without ANY problems. Traction control works great, especially like the remote liftgate window opener on the key. The hi-beams literally turn night into day.

Should be a negitive number on the reliablitly - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By 1madjeepowner - November 23 - 3:27 pmThis is my second 2014 Grand Cherokee. Why? Because at 500 miles, the first one had a total and complete transition failure. Like could not turn the car off, take it out of gear, nothing. Should have walked away then but we had a bad experience with a Suburban once, had it taken back under lemon law, and our next burb was great. So my new car, a 2014 JGC Summit has had the following: Nav System failures - shows me in a completely different city than I am in, constant radio issues (we are now on radio number 3), phone connect issues, remote start doesnt turn on A/C, and now there are days when the car simply will not start. At all. Chrysler is crap. Beautiful car that will not run.

Love It! - 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By lwjustme - November 22 - 10:56 pmI traded in my Mercedes for this beauty and I have no regrets. That says a lot because I really loved the Mercedes. This truck is sporty and classy combined. Its no soccer mom mobile guaranteed! More than enough horsepower, lots of room and very comfortable to drive. Gas mileage? I didnt buy it for the gas mileage.

First-time Jeep Owner - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By dpvdpv - November 21 - 10:00 amwith $3K off the MSRP and another $3.5K off from incentives and a decent rate of 5.20% through Chrysler made this purchase a no-brainer - very worried I was making a mistake, but could not have been happier with the purchase - no other SUV with Leather, sun-roof, and inline 6 could be gotten for this price. And I got the 5/60K warranty for an extra $800.00

Running Fine - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By CTODD92 - November 21 - 3:00 amI have had the vehicle for over 20K miles and have taken it to Iceland and Hawaii without incident. I had to replace the automatic rear hatch lock and the battery (both known problems). However, maintenance and parts was rather simple. The vehicle performs when I need a 4x4 but looks at home stylingwise in town. I am averaging 13.5 mpg in town. I wish that was a little better. I would suggest regular maintenance intervals be met and probably a front brake upgrade and airflow filter kit. Other than that, good used vehicle!

Keeping my fingers crossed - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By hamladen - November 20 - 4:46 pmAs of today Ive had no complaints (other than the horrendous gas mileage 11 in town) or visits to the dealership. The vehicle is nimble for an SUV, good acceleration, much more reliable than my previously owned Tahoe and Suburban, comfortably luxurious for a medium sized woman, but my 511 husband constantly complains that the interior is too small...no headroom (hits his head getting in),cramped leg room, uncomfortable passenger seat, rear view mirror creates a blind spot, cargo space is smaller than that of my CR-V. He wants me to trade it in for a 4-runner, sequoia or armada, but Im holding out as it is myride. Hope my good luck continues as other reports are alarming.

Good Buy - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Brandon - November 15 - 7:06 pmBought in 2004 brand new. Fun to drive. very reliable. The v6 is a little slower than the v8.But still good pickup.Gas mileage is the only problem. $70.00 to fill up. And the gas goes fast.Around town if you dont use the A/C as much,it will help on the gas mileage.

Jeep - never again - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By 1996 Jeep Grand Cher - November 14 - 2:16 pmI have the 4.0 liter, 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Had 65,000 K when I bought it. Worst car I have ever owned. I am shopping for a replacement now. I have replaced catalytic convertor twice, out again. Cracked exhaust manifold, hoses, radiator, crank shaft sensor (going out again I believe), idle motor also. Have to hit starter 6 to 8 times to connect. I am 64 years old and put 5,000 miles on it a year..so rough treatment is not the excuse.

Happy Owner - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Bill Baird - November 12 - 9:23 amWe had an Isuzu Axiom and Ford Escape before this and were disappointed in both. The Jeep is trouble-free and costs nothing but gas and an occasional oil change. On the other hand, our MB S430 lives in the repair shop. Go figure.

First time Jeep owner and love it! - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By baycouple929 - November 12 - 2:00 amHow do you begin to describe such a refined and magnificent vehicle? I will start by saying that the engineers finally have outdone themselves on this one. I purchased the Overland 4X4 model for my wife with the V-8 engine and every single option under the sun. The ride is completely amazing as well as the flawless detail of the leather interior. The outside rode noise is nonexistent even driving next to a semi truck. The heated and vented seats are thoroughly enjoyable as well as the lumbar support. Fuel economy is very good considering the V-8 (20 MPG HWY). Try comparing the vehicle with a Porsche Cayenne S with the same options and you would pay MUCH MORE! My wife LOVES it.
