The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Love it! but not perfect! - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Aaron - December 3 - 3:36 pmI have only had one major problem with my Jeep when I needed a new transmission at about 110,000 miles. Other than that it drives great and is very reliable. Awesome in the snow! It will drive through anything! Comfortable to drive and handles well. The gas mileage can be pretty brutal especially if you try to go above 70.

I LOVE IT! - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jeepster - December 3 - 10:40 amThis is the third Jeep Grand Cherokee that I have owned. They are honestly great vehicles. I have always bought them with V-8 power, and for one mpg difference, it is worth it. My two other Jeeps both went to 145,000 miles with NO problems (and still running strong) and this one is following their footsteps. My Jeep has not seen the inside of the Jeep dealership since Ive owned it. (37,000 miles) except for routine maintenance. I have not had a single problem. It is very fun to drive, and very quick to respond. And in the snow, you can have nothing better than a Jeep 4x4. People always tell me how great the car looks. Dont believe people who say Jeep have problems, I would drive nothing else.

Diesel disaster - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By pmoriarty - December 2 - 10:30 pmNice looking and fun to drive, but spends most of its life at the dealer. Check engine light on for most of its short life. Dealer cannot fix emissions problems and my Rejected inspection sticker is running out. Car will be illegal to drive shortly and have no fix. Unbelievable. Avoid this vehicle at all costs!!!

Jeep outdone themselves - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Justand - December 2 - 11:36 amI just purchased my 2011 Jeep Overland in Silver a week ago, and I cant say how pleased I am with this vehicle. I looked at the SRX, MKX, Benz ML, BMW X5, Lexus and compared the features and cost to the 2011 Jeep. The JGC wins hands down. The previous years the inside was never roomy, it was a tight fit. This new jeep is everything u want in an SUV-roomy, first class interior and quiet ride. It is completely redesigned from inside out. If you can afford it, get the Overland, Im so glad I did. It is worth every penny and I wont mind writing my check every month! Jeep has outdone themselves! Great Job

We had a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited before this and it lasted us 10 years. It is a relaible car. Could not reccoment anything better! After reading all the commentary here, I beleive either you love or hate a Jeep. There is no in between.

Ahead of vehicles costing far more. A top contender for "car", "truck" and SUV of the year. It is everything! Rough and tough, yet smooth as silk. AWD system rivals our Range Rover. The leather is classier and it is far better built. Room, viability, panorama roof make it a breeze for people of all sizes and shapes to ride and drive in complete comfort. The Cadillac and RR are too lanky, tippy and cumbersome w/ distance too hard to judge. I urge everyone to test drive the 11 JGC. You will be amazed. It is as great off road as on.

My Jeep - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Meltaitt - November 27 - 2:33 amI have really enjoyed owning this vehicle. I havent had any major issues (knock on wood) other than the usual maintenance. Its fun to drive but I really wish the gas would last a little longer. Other than that Im really happy with my Jeep and I believe that my next vehicle will definitely be a Jeep. Thanks

First Impressions - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jim C - November 26 - 10:06 pmJust picked up the new jeep and took it on a trip to northern Michigan. It is a wonderful SUV and everything is better then the previous version. This is the first jeep I am happy to park next the BMWs and Audis at the office. Looks great and is good value for the money.
