Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Very good overall, brakes problematic - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Charlie Grayson - February 20 - 10:00 amThe beauty of this vehicle is it is relatively small for an SUV with the power of a V8 and 6300lb towing capacity. You wont find another vehicle that can pull as well that drives like a car when you arent pulling. Things I dont like: front brake rotors will warp under normal use every 10-15K miles and will need resurfacing to prevent shimmy. Jeeps warranty on this is 6K, I think. Also think front seats could be a bit firmer. Poor fuel economy when towing about 5500 lbs---about 9 mpg. Rear end makes a whirring noise when moving very slowly (5 mph or less), but is normal. Other than brakes, no real problems.

Total Lack of Support - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By floridateacher - February 16 - 6:58 pmBought a JGC Ltd. in January and loved almost everything about it. But in May I had an accident that caused all of the front air bags to deploy. The vehicle was repaired in about 3 weeks but I am now in my 7th week waiting for the knee air bag to arrive and be installed. The collision center has done everything it can and I called Chrysler Support. What a joke, they are telling me it will be another 8 weeks before the part will be available. They have offered NOTHING in the way of support like a free rental car even though I have maxed out my rental insurance. I will NEVER buy another Chrysler product. How can they sell cars they dont have parts for? Does the customer mean nothing?

No Troubles here! - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Dan Bartlett - February 14 - 10:00 amBought this Jeep last year. Has everything. Paint is great. Engine has 107000 miles now Transfer case is gear driven so it has the typical whine to it. I pull a 2500 lb boat with is and a family of 5 goes as well to the lake...This jeep has no trouble doing its job. You will however pay for the power with fuel economy. 15.9 avg over the last 17000 miles. This includes trips to Vegas from Ca during the summer daytime. Climbs well The Jeep only requires oil changes, tire rotation, and 8 or so grease fittings every 5000 miles or so. As I said no problems mechanically or electrically except for the radio!

Good, Bad and Ugly - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jpg - February 14 - 10:00 amGood - 4.7 V8 engine screams. What a Rocket. Bad - Ride is interesting with solid axles and short wheelbase. Ugly - A/C could be better. Live in Texas so keep that in mind. Overall - Very solid and reliable truck.

2003 Cheap Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD 4.0 - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Whatquality - February 13 - 10:00 amWow. How can a type of one vehicle be so split? Some love it . Others hate it. Me, I hate it. Since Ive owned this vehicle Ive had 2 sets of rotors replaced. 3 fan relays. Now with a hole cut under the headlight I can replace it in minutes at $65. I now keep a spare. 2 window mechanisms. I cant believe an engineer ever imagined that a thin piece of plastic would ever hold the window up. The hood doesnt stay up. Wouldnt that be a no-brainer? Weight of hood. Strut to hold (I have a piece of wood). Now the best part. The engine dies. Anywhere. At intersections, expressways, in the driveway. And no diagnostic codes. After a couple of minutes right as rain. Dangerous! Illegal?

Take a Closer Look at the Grand Cherokee - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By gc - February 10 - 11:06 pmThe Grand Cherokee is a fun vehicle to drive. In reading some of the professional reviews, I was skeptical until I actually drove the Jeep. It has a 4.7 V8, which has plenty of power, and we have found it to be a very comfortable vehicle. The interior has plenty of room and everything is conveniently located. Ours is "optioned" up pretty good and has the Quadra Drive II. Overall, I would highly recommend the Grand Cherokee to anyone looking for a fun, mid-size SUV.

FLOOD in Nashville! How i got around... - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Hollisterdude127 - February 10 - 10:26 pmI bought the 07 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo v6 about 4 months ago with 20k miles on it. The Jeep is pretty awesome, I am a first time Jeep owner and will probably be a Lifetime Jeep owner after owning this one. I live in Nashville and we just had a horrible flood, this Jeep got me around everywhere I needed to go. I trust it, I love it! I would recommend to anyone considering a smaller SUV. I get about 20.5 mpg city/highway combined.

98 Grand Cherokee is grrreeat! - 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By call me a jeep guy. - February 9 - 1:36 pmWell, I have owned this vehicle for a little over a year it has been wonderful. I have had little to no problems. It is essential for driving in snow. Particularly in the wondrous Rockys in Aspen, Colorado. I would also say any logical person after some dope in snowy conditions would be perfectly fine traveling in the up coming snow shower. (not even a snow storm(lots of emphasis on shower)).

Used 1999 Limited Grand - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Phil Ferguson 100 - February 8 - 2:00 amGreat value SUV. Brought it used in 03,a local lady had owned it. Perfect condition and paid 2/5 of original cost, with 60k mileage. A bit boxy, stiff ride, some drive train noise comes through in the 1999 edition. Great in the Wyoming winters, outdoors, off-road. Nice highway use, but still an SUV in terms of a highway feel. We put Waag grill/tail light guards on it and it looks tough. Great package for the money!
