Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Overall great....but... - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By RANDY - August 14 - 1:03 pmGreat vehicle, but for some reason it overheated at 750 miles (since new) after a brief gas stop on 250 mile trip home. It was flatbedded to the nearest dealership. They found nothing wrong! Strange, since now I wonder if it might happen again. Dealership not helpful in explaining how this could have occurred. Otherwise, my 6 month experience with this Jeep (5.7 L) has been great.

Second Jeep... will buy a third! - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Adam - August 13 - 11:40 pmI bought my first Jeep in 1996. I liked it so much that I bought another one. My family liked my cars so much that my brother bought a 2000, and my dad just bought a 2005. I have heard that Jeeps have reliability issues, but at 71K I have only replaced tires, brakes, and a blower motor (within warranty). Jeeps have unparalleled off-road capability and the torque will beat just about any car on the road off the line. The car looks very classy inside and out. Definitely a head turner. I will drive this Jeep till the wheels fall off and then buy another one. I LOVE MY JEEP! p.s. definitely buy v8!

Great Truck - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By THH963 - August 12 - 12:13 amPurchased my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee used w/approx 47,000 miles on it & traded it in 3 1/2 later with approx 84,000 miles on it. I put new Firestone Destination tires on it & got it aligned right after purchase. Got new rear brakes @ approx 70,000 miles & replaced front & rear shocks @ 74,500 miles. Aside above I have only done regular service checks. The truck has been great & reliable (drove it from NY to CA) experience. It is much more comfortable than Id ever expected, even after 14 hours of driving. By now, anyone buying a V8 Jeep should know about its 15 mpg gas mileage, quit complaining thats not why you buy a Jeep & same with the brakes. Not the best, but they stop you.

DAMN DRIVE TERRAIN - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By IWANTANIMPORT - August 10 - 10:00 amI BOUGHT MY JEEP A YEAR AGO AT 35OOO MILES. I HAVENT HAD ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL I TOOK IT TO A SKI TRIP. I DONT KNOW IF IT WAS THE COLD WEATHER THAT MADE THE TRANSMISSION SLIP, BUT WHEN I TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A GOOD THING I BROUGHT IT IN WHEN I DID. IT COSTED ME AROUND 1700 DOLLARS TO GET IT REPLACED. CHRYSLER, I LIKE THE DESIGN AND UR ENGINES BUT DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE SQUEAKING OF THE DIFFERENTIALS, TRANSMISSIONS AND BRAKES IN COLD WEATHER...IM LOOKING INTO JAPANESE VEHICLES. MAKE IT RELIABLE

SWEET RIDE FOR AN SUV - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Brad - August 6 - 6:43 pmGreat buy, love the quite ride. Gas mileage is a concern but understandable with a HEMI. It is my first owned SUV, but more comfortable ride than Ford Explorer or Chevy TrailBlazer. A few interior concerns that could be changed but overall still a great buy.
