Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Solid Transportation - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jamye - September 11 - 3:43 pmWe have enjoyed our Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. We bought it about 6 years ago with 98,000 miles and now have 170,000 miles with no major issue. It is starting to leak some oil, but hey its almost 14 years old.

Its A Jeep! - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By drive it - September 11 - 2:16 amIf you know Jeeps, theres not much to explain. The car comes super loaded, more so than most new cars now. With the V8, gas mileage isnt too great, about 16 mpg, but what do you expect. The only problem Ive ever had on mine (now at 98,000 miles) is the heated seats which seem to have a tenancy to go out every couple years even if you keep getting them fixed. But most cars dont even have them in the first place so its not a big deal to just not have them. To me, its one of the best looking SUVs ever made with comfort to match. Even at 10 years old, its everything you need in an SUV. Recommended to anyone not worried about gas mileage.

Best Jeep Ever - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Skip - September 10 - 11:43 pmJust purchase 2011 grand cherokee limited with 5.7 v8. Dealership was great and the Jeep is even better. Glad that Jeep has found its way back and this model should reestablish the brand as the one to buy. Tested SUVs from lexus, toyota, hyundai, acura, chev, and honda and the Jeep is by far not only the better vehicle but the best value.

By marstexas - September 9 - 2:00 amI purchased mine brand new and have had nothing but problems..Im only at 18,000 miles and am ready to dump it. The steering is very poor, stability and the Tire Pressure Monitering sucks..I have a loaded one w/on board computer, etc..I must have been loaded when I bought this as Im very disappointed with its performance. The lights flash on and off ..I could go on forever...

BMW goes Jeep - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By e336 - September 4 - 1:17 pmIve been driving a long list of German cars over the past 20 years - in fact this is my first American car. My last vehicle was a BMW X6. After two weeks with my GC Summit, I have to admit that its fun to drive, has excellent performance, great fuel economy for a 5K plus pound vehicle, and is quiet. There are some differences in interior fit and finish quality. Some of the plastic on the center console looks cheap and is in stark contrast to the generally great quality of the dash/instrument panel and seating. Overall, however, for a car with a list prices of nearly $25K less than an X6, its a great value.

By Greg Van Lieu - September 2 - 10:00 amVery poor reliability. It is a shame because the interior is very nice.

No longer the all american classic. - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Madmike - August 30 - 11:46 amI hate this vehicle. So far I have had the transmission, transfer case and front axle and oil pressure gauge replaced, the computer system overhauled, and countless other small problems and the truck still does not work right. The dealership says they can never find the source of the problems (clunking, grinding, hard shifts, steering noise, and horrible performance). LOOK AT THE RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE. Do not buy a 1999 or 2000, especially with Quadra-drive.

Love My Grand Cherokee - 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Streaker - August 29 - 10:00 amBought used from a dealer in 1995 and still smells new inside. Only repairs were front differential bearings, a cv boot, and transfer case seal. Also factory alarm system had mind of its own and I had dealer deactivate it. Very comfortable for long trips of 5000 miles or more but have also been off- road in the desert and over mountains. My Jeep has never let me down. I expect to drive it for many years.

trail rated capability - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By clint murphy - August 29 - 10:00 amMy experience with a jeep brand vehicle is that it performs exceptionay well off road. With unmatched capability it can go where no other suv can go.
