The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

3rd Jeep - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Orion - February 5 - 6:56 pmThis is my 3rd, I wasnt too into the new design at first but it has male thing about it. I traded a G-35 coupe for it. That was 0-60 in 6 seconds, this is 0-60 in 7 seconds; for a 4x4 thats unheard of. This Limited is loaded, and the toys are fabulous, I cant wait for the first real snow storm to put it to the test. Im sure it will handle it in stride like the other 4x4s I had in the past only with more capability. I noted a couple of minor paint flaws but other then that it has been real tight. It has 4000 miles on it already, and it has been living up to a Jeep. Mileage is what they stated. :-)

This is the 2014 diesel limited 4x2 - not on list - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By sl3_007 - February 5 - 2:06 pm1st diesel car/suv for me. So much torque and great mpg. Got 34 mpg on a 500 mile Thanksgiving trip. 700 miles between fuel stops. After 5k so far no trips to the dealer for anything. 26 mpg avg around town. 8 speed trans. and electronic shifter takes a little time to adjust to but actually works well and is efficient. The DEF was still half full so 10k between fill-ups is realistic. Build quality is excellent with no squeaks or rattles. The NAV and electronics has worked well syncing with phone and XM. Still have more to learn and utilize. Auto back liftgate and storage is easy to use and ample for midsize suv.

2005 Grand Cherokee - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Dr.Scott13 - February 4 - 6:43 am2005 Grand Cherokee, purchased used 2006 w/ 29,000. Was fine until 35,000 and the Tranny Blew! Heard about it, read about it and then experienced. Love the ride, the storage, but cant get past the transmission problems. Would like to buy another Jeep, but cant forget the burn it gave me the first time. Sorry cant recommend, unless you have $3,000 for a Transmission.

By Brandi - February 1 - 4:03 pmWhen I bought this truck, I loved it. Since then it has been one thing after another. It started shaking and I found out that the coil packs had to be changed. That wasnt too bad. But then my heater coils and blower motor had to be replaced. That was quite expensive. I can say that it has never left me on the side of the road. Thats a plus, but I will never buy one again.

Major Disappointment - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By disappointed - January 29 - 3:43 pmI love my JEEP-- If only it was built better! I love the look, the feel (except the doors do tend to spring back on you). Now if only the engine and transmission were worth 2 cents. Bought it brand new and it started leaking in TWO separate areas immediately. First time I brought it into the dealership they said there was no leak (tell that to my previously spotless driveway) they fixed one leak but refuse to acknowledge the other! They even tried to tell me it was normal run off! worst service dept I have ever dealt with. wont buy another vehicle from that dealership EVER, Id rather walk.

ONE CATASTROPHE AFTER ANOTHER - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By karma90 - January 28 - 8:23 pmI have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, Automatic, 2WD, the vehicle starts up perfectly but then instantly dies.Not a sputter nothing its like it just loses spark.The power works fine, the dash lights come on,no problem, automatic & manual head lights work great so far.Power windows and door locks work,my interior lights work.Gas light comes on,but theres gas in the jeep.None of the gauges move at all.After trying to start it multiple times there is no sort of clicking from inside my vehicle like when my alternator went out & my battery kept dying.I recently replaced the alternator 2 days ago.I replaced transmission catalytic converter,muffler,& major tune up 6 weeks ago. PLEASE HELP

JGC Trailhawk Real Off-road Ability / Luxury Ride - 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By DJ - January 28 - 4:30 pmI leased the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk after considering the JGC Limited. When I looked at the standard features and option packages of each trim level the Trailhawk made more sense. The difference in the ride with the Quadra Lift suspension is remarkable. This is written while still in "honeymoon" stage, as I have owned the truck for just 3 weeks, but it has a better ride than my previous crossover GMC Acadia Denali 2014. I got luxury pig w pano roof, Xenon auto hi/lo beam headlights, & rain sensitive wipers. Loving it so far. Plenty of pick up w paddle shifters & auto stick yet my wife can leave it in regular automatic mode. Shed rather drive our jeep than our Benz!
