Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Goodbye Jeep - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Aikman - April 25 - 10:00 amJust based on the brake problems alone, it is time to say goodbye to my Jeep. When htey were fixed the first time, most of it was covered under the warrantty at 30,000. At 60,000, the price went way up and htere was no gaurantee I wouldnt have to replace the brakes again in less then 30,000 miles AGAIN! The AC has leaked twice and the radiator is starting to leak as well. The main compter board went at 9,000 miles on vacation. It took a lot to have Jeep pay for the car rental and delivering the Jeep from Virgina to CT.

Good Jeep - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Mr. Myron - April 24 - 10:10 pmI purchased this vehicle 1 year ago and have had no major problems. Information system is excellent. The hard drive option is excellent for music, I have 1600 songs saved. Ive averaged around 16-17 mpg in the city and 18-21MPG on hwy for the 4.7L V8. Bluetooth for the phone is excellent, heated seats front and rear are great. Only option I dont have is rear DVD player. Only issue is sometimes the navigation/radio will freeze up. Shutting the car off and back on solves the problem. I can count on 1 hand how many times its happened, and Ive driven it 22,000 miles. Steering wheel radio controls are great and rear view camera helps immensely in parking. Great in towing & snow. No maintenance

Jeep GC 08 Ltd Hemi RWD - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Dana Jeeper - April 22 - 8:00 pmThis is my 2nd Jeep GC.. had a 04 GC Ltd and loved it. This vehicle is definitely heavier and I felt the Hemi would help. Its got all the power and luxury I wanted plus the upgraded touch screen nav (I had the old one on my 04), Havent actually used the myGIG feature yet. Love the looks, fun to drive. Gas mileage sucks but thats the trade off. Good pricing for all the features of a luxury vehicle.

another lemon - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By kenny - April 22 - 12:16 pmBought this used, in 15 months been in the dealers 5 times. Still under the 7- 70 coverage, but doesnt ever get fixed. Shift and noise issues. Dealer replaced trans valve body, trans went out all together days later. They serviced the front diff, same thing, diff went out days later. Every time gets worse after they touch it. At the dealer now, "no problem found", sounds like a Mack truck going down the road. Just waiting to see what else theyve screwed up. Have the v-8, power lacking, gas mileage stinks. My wife loves it for some reason. My Tahoe at 130k is twice the car this ever was, less noise, better mpg, very few repairs, nothing major like this thing.

2014 Jeep GC is the best SUV available - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By markansas - April 22 - 2:12 amI have the Limited 4x4, 3.6 Liter V-6 gasoline with Advanced Technology Group, the Lux Group II, Trailer Tow Group IV, Exterior Appearance Group, Off-Road Adventure I and the Uconnect Nav option. I drove a Mercedes SUV, a Land Rover, the Audi Q5 and Q7 and the Volvo X90. I liked the Limited GC better than all of them and relative to cost, I LOVED the Limited GC. The others are so overpriced relative to the Limited GC. For all the reviews complaining about the diesel engine, I ask this: Why in the Hades did you buy the diesel? It cost an extra $4200 + tax and it is no savings over a gasoline engine given that diesel fuel is 20% or so more expensive than 87 octane. Diesel = not a smart buy

Best car ever - 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By DanP - April 22 - 2:00 amThis is my 3rd Grand Cherokee since 1993. I like this style much better than the new one and I cant bring myself to get rid of it. The 5.9 engine and all-wheel drive make this a true performance vehicle, but the mileage is not good. But, in terms of looks, performance, practicality, and features, this is the best car Ive ever had.

Fun, Reliable eats gas. - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By pmlupi - April 22 - 2:00 amLove my Jeep, and am planning on keeping it until it dies. It is classy enough to tote clients around in and will hold up while impersonating the "General Lee" while off roading. It also seems to look much better when it has a good coat of dirt on it. There is something wrong with getting it detailed.

Great Looking Car, Needs Help - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jcoots - April 20 - 10:12 amLeased a 2014 JGC Overland. Had it for a year & just traded it for an Acura. All in all, not a bad car. Comfortable, nice features (when they worked), sharp looking. Definitely opt for V8 or V6 (I didnt - mistake). Jeep has got to focus on overall reliability across the board. In particular is the technology. So unreliable. Would turn on car & no volume, navigation has no idea where I am. Half the time couldnt change stations or adjust volume. UConnect is a waste. You get Yelp & Pandora for a fee (free on my teenagers Honda Accord). Navi input crazy slow. The wifi option is expensive & completely worthless. Transmission stinks. Step on accelerator & stand still for a few seconds.

Nice ride - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Drew - April 18 - 8:13 pmThe ride in the 2005 is 10 times better then the prior years, it floats on the road. I love my Jeep and so does everyone who gets in. The only thing I have to say is that I get horrible gas mileage. Also, there are more and more rattling noises, but other than that, so far so good.

solid 4x4 - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By hunter - April 16 - 2:46 pmThe gas mileage and reliability were not what I had hoped for but it has performed the towing and off road job very well. It is comfortable on highway and the V8 has plenty of power. It now has 120,000 miles and has required no internal engine work. I have an "up country" suspension and limited slip rear end which makes it a good hunting vehicle.
