Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

A comfortable cruiser - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Bob - December 31 - 5:46 pmTraded in an Acura. This Laredo is so much more comfortable on long trips. Especially visibility, soft adjustable seats for smaller people, lack of road noise. Getting 22.5 mpg on interstates, 65 mph, A/C always on, V- 6 motor, 2WD.

Great Vehicle - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By PB - December 27 - 3:40 amI researched vehicles for about a year. I was really excited about the new Ford Explorer, as we are a Ford family, but we needed a new vehicle sooner than "Winter 2011" as the Ford site shows. I have always loved the Jeep Cherokees looks, but never considered purchasing based on the sparse utilitarian interior and rough ride. The new design puts all of that behind it. Beautiful interior, stylish exterior, smooth (Mercedes ML) ride, and respectable price ($36,675 for the Laredo X 4x2), make for a great formula. I do believe that the days of Japanese and European vehicles being superior to American products are over. Nice going, Jeep.

Expected better - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By KGB-Kenny - December 21 - 5:00 pmIm seeing a lot of things on these reviews that Ive experienced myself. Bought new in 2002 and have had problems with rotors/brakes too. Also the dual zone climate control door went bad (expensive to fix). Also hood struts went bad as well as the gas cap (youll know when your engine light comes on)...Ive seen these 2 problems a lot on reviews. Not sure the seat leather is actually leather - after a few years it gets a bit plastic-y. Also needs more leg room for the driver (Im 62"). Overall its not bad, but considering it sold for about $38k new I expected much better for my money.

185,000 and still going strong! - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By ijustin - December 21 - 9:48 amMy 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo has about 185,000 miles on it and it still runs great! Just had to replace a tire rod and transmission hose recently, The build quality of this car is really good, theres not alot of hard plastics, mostly soft to the touch, the basic 6 speaker sound system sounds AMAZING if you just turn up the base. The seats are comfortable and it drives nicely, it can be slow to accelerate but other than that its great! I would definitely recommend buying one. The only draw back i can think of is when you are going fast like 60 MPH or faster the steering wheel kinda shakes.

Jeep story - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jeep - December 21 - 12:50 amBought this "almost new" Jeep from Auto Gallery of Winnipeg. After few weeks when cleaning the vehicle I realized that the whole side of the vehicle has been repainted possibly due to accident. Went back to the dealer, they offered another 06 GC vehicle if I paid arm and leg in difference. I kept the vehicle and two years later both doors and rear fender started developing serious rust. Not knowing what other surprises are there, traded it for 08 GC. Beside the bad experience with the dealer, 06 GC was a very reliable, no problems during 50 000km of ownership.

Well Worth it! - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By kolis1 - December 19 - 9:43 pmRecently leased the 5.7L Hemi with great hesitation - THE GAS! Come to think of it, the difference between this SUV and every other on is 2-4mile/g. As far as comparison, i drove the Xterra, RX350, and the XC90. Hands down this car has more power, smoother ride, quiet inside, lots of gadgets to play with, but hidden if youre not into it. With all the bad rep that American auto customer service has got, Ive had a Liberty for 3 years, and theyve taken care of me well.

SUV that Rocks! - 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Dave from Duxbury - December 19 - 3:20 amJust bought the Overland version of the Cherokee with the Hemi. Feels like a sports car off the dime. Nice throaty roar. Love the features such as nav/multi function radio....and IPOD connection. Can upload CD or IPOD tunes to memory. Nav easy to use. Love the automatic high beam dimmer...goes to low beam when other cars appear. Very, very solid road handling...and interior very snug and comfortable. Cant wait to take this baby on a road trip. All in all...I am delighted with this vehicle so far.

Most awarded vehicle??? - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By will1112 - December 17 - 3:13 amThis is touted as the most awarded vehicle but I doubt anyone who awarded these is an actual owner of the eco diesel. First off I loved this vehicle(for 10000 miles). Everything about it was great. The gas mileage is great but after 10k miles it began!! Fiat Chrysler should never have released this vehicle with all the recalls and emissions problems specifically in the eco-diesel. Read up on this in Jeep blogs. I have been in the dealership(double digits) more with this one vehicle then my last 6 vehicles combined. Its been a year now and this vehicles check engine(MIL) light has not been off more than a week in the last 8 months. Dealership nor Chrysler techs seem to be able to fix these issues. Unbelievable what close to $50k buys you nowadays. Obviously not everyone runs into these issues and it may not happen to you..thats what I originally thought and it happened to me. Just beware. Ill never buy another Chrysler product again due to them not backing their product nor caring about their consumers.

Its the only choice our there - 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By L. Mazza - December 16 - 9:41 pmPurchased a Trail hack 5.7 L and I am simply in love. This vehicle makes me feel I am in a much more expensive SUV. The ride, comfort and the power is second to none. It is my second Jeep and on the first one never had a single issue and it has almost 80k miles. On this one I feel I am in a complete different vehicle. The V8 power is amazing, the ride is limousine grade. It is quite, it is comfortable and it looks just incredible when compared to all those "SUVs" from the Japanese and the Germans. The design is very attractive. So far I have put close to six thousand miles and I have had zero issues. I plant on keeping my old jeep and my new one. Maintenance is not that expensive and as far as reliability it seems as good or better than the competition. What I am not in love is how easy and lazy the engine works, just a touch to the accelerator and that V8 power sends you moving with ease. I am truly I love with my jeep.
