Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Smooth SUV - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Pat - November 9 - 10:00 amVery quiet and smooth on the road. Nice tight turning radius. Mileage about what expected - hitting EPA estimates. Premium highway cruiser. Good looking interior. Comfortable seats. Antenna catches on my garage door and is too high. Low beam headlights are terrible - had them checked but they only project ~ 30yds. They are recessed too far and the hood cuts them off.

Looks arent Everything - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Summer Raven - November 6 - 11:16 amcorrect me if Im wrong, but a new trans before 80k is NOT OKAY and this seems to be a common trait among jeeps. I bought mine at 60k. I got sucked in by the super comfy interior, stylish exterior and the price range. It felt luxurious to me at the time and I went for it despite problem jeeps Id heard about. And guess, what they are all true. Lately it seems one thing after another so I am selling it now because Im sick of pouring $ into it and having more things happen. I think a good car should easily go 160k with proper maintenance. Hopefully my next will be more sufficient.

I Love This Truck - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By taurean468 - November 6 - 7:16 amI bought this truck in May at 73,000 and now it has 80,000 6 months later. I have not had any problems with it. The fuel economy on my 4.7 V8 is 13.5 - 14 city and 18 - 22 highway. There are a lot of V6s that do not get that.

Love My Jeep.....Looking for another - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jeeplover8 - November 4 - 6:14 pmI purchased my 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo in 2007 from an auction, it had 95000 miles on it, I would still be driving my jeep today, but someone hit it when it was parked, and totaled, it had 163000+ miles. I didnt experience any engine problems, any transmissions problems, I performed a tune-up when i purchased it and regular maintenace every 3000 miles..It is true what they say, be good to your Jeep and it will be good to you!!

Great All Around - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By flove - November 4 - 2:00 amThis Jeep drives smooth like a car, yet still has unsurpassed off road capability. And the HO motor makes it quick! Nice moderate size vehicle; not hard to fit in to parking places.

My First Jeep - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By goldnugget - November 4 - 2:00 amI considered other SUVS before buying the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. And I was very close to buying the 2004 Ford Explorer. I had owned a 2000 Ford Expedition with which I was extremely pleased. So, I was assuming the Explorer would give me the same satsifaction. But a souring experience with the Ford dealer brought me to the Jeep dealership. Im extremely happy that i did. The vehicle, outside of its rough on-road ride, is just marvelous. Ive been geting about 18 MPG so far. It has all the features I wanted in a vehicle. I especially like the small cargo carrying capability and the flexibility of having a nice car to take to important functions.

Solid on and off road - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By M. Swanson - November 4 - 1:20 amPurchased from dealer with 49,000 miles. Command-trac works very well off-road. This thing will traverse logging camp paths that look impossible. Very little mechanical problems - cat converter and exhaust manifold. An honest vehicle - does just what it was designed to do very well. I have 87,000 miles and plan to keep it for at least 3-4 more years.

worst vehicle owned.... - 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Mikew_98 - November 2 - 10:00 amIn the year and a half I have owned the vehicle, I have spent in excess of $2600 in repairs on it. Drivetrain is great and very reliable. Do not get one with and bells and whistles, it will only frustrate you to have to try and deal with Chrysler to get anything on it fixed =/
