All of these models incorporate subtle cosmetic touches and equipment upgrades. Additionally, each Columbia Edition Jeep comes with a complimentary Columbia parka.

  • Powerful 4.7-liter V8, all-terrain capability, roomy comfort for four.
Cons:
  • Noisy and unrefined, questionable reliability, trucklike on-road handling.

We bought this Jeep fully intending to keep it for a long long time. Its a 2WD Cherokee LTD. By 6000 miles we began to experience problems with brake rotor warping and peddle pulsation. It got so bad I was concerned about losing control during braking. The bottom line -- dealer told us to pound salt. Gas mileage horrible for a 6 cylinder (16.9 mpg city). Would NEVER buy a jeep again (or any Chrysler product).

Only have 20000 kilometers so far and am satisfied with the vehicle. the overland is distinctive and is easily identified from the ordinary Grand Cheroke.

  • Good Jeep - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

My wife and I purchased our GC LTD new and have generally enjoyed it. It has a nice smooth ride, and with the 4.7L V- 8, accelerates very quickly. My wife drives mainly in town and averages 14MPG, though on longer trips we have averaged as high as 23 MPG. We have had some recurrent problems, such as with window seals shrinking and front brake rotor problems. Jeep replaced the front brakes a couple of years ago under recall and have had no problems since, including no brake dust! We also had a heated seat burn through, but with some fighting Jeep repaired the seat. Overall, I would recommend the Grand Cherokee.

  • Upstate NY Monster - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

With long winters and over 110" of snow, The Jeep JC is the monster of the midway. I traded a 2000 JC Limited, which I drove for 80K miles without incident (OK, the usual warped rotors). The Inferno Red Overland is a real head turner. Gas Mileage is poor as expected. Comofort and ride are excellent. DVD Nav system is great for trips away from home. Easily find Gas, ATMs, or food by type. Thrilled to be an Overland owner!

  • Terrible!. A truck not a luxury car! - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I bought the laredo, Freedom. We were sold the Freedom as they were out of stock on the regular Laredos. Car is terrible on bumbs, terrible on highways and terrible on city streets. I live in NY. It might be good off road but this is the worst car I have purchased.

  • Not your moms SUV - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive had my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee for 5 months now. It replaced my 95 Jeep with 185,000 miles and still running strong. This is my third Jeep; my only complaint is the interior plastic is not a good as it should be on a $31,000 SUV. Ride comfort is a little bumpy but acceptable. If you dont intend to take drive off road you may want to look at a Toyota or Honda instead. Off road nothing is better than a Jeep 4x4. With good set of A/T tires, Grand Cherokees can follow a Wrangler Rubicon almost anywhere except extreme rock crawling. You will probably be the limiting factor in where you attempt to take it. Window regulator broke -- dealer repaired so it cost $0.

  • Gone Jeepin - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive wanted this Jeep since the redesign back in 1999. I finally got one, and its the most fun-to-drive car Ive ever been in! The V8 engine is great on speed and power, though Im only getting an average of about 16mpg. No surprise there, as this is an SUV after all. The LTD model has a ton of gizmos and gadgets to keep me happy, and despite being a 5 year old design it still looks more modern & aggressive than the new Trailblazers and Explorers. I also considered the HUMMER H2, but although I like its big “TONKA” toy truck look… it’s still kind of ugly. The Jeep gets twice the H2’s gas mileage, costs over $20k less, and has twice as many onboard toys.

  • Its a keeper. - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Bought this overland edition in nov. 07. Was certified. Had a few issues at first. Dealer was incompetent after the 2nd month all bugs were worked out, guess it had been sitting on lot for a whiles. Sumptuous leather seats sold me the 1st time sitting inside. Every option available from nav to automatic wipers.

  • My Third and Last Jeep - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited is my third jeep in thirty five years. I am in my fifties and I am an avid surf fisherman. I use my 4x4 vehicles extensively on the beach in Hatteras N.C. This vehicle has done wonderfully in the sand on Cape Point. It is one of the most comfortable SUVs Ive ever owned. Unfortunately build quality has been a disappointment. Window fell down inside of the door. I am also having a continual problems with the heat and air conditioning system. The dash has been removed twice for a faulty flapper door. Very poor design with plastic parts that break. Hard to explain to wife why no A/C during our last trip to Outer Banks. Chrome peeled off of two Jeep Rims.
