Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Jeepers Not Creepers - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Chris West - July 11 - 2:36 amThis is my very first American car. I have been smitten with this iteration of the GC since it came out and bit the bullet earlier this month on a brand new 2015 Overland 4x2 V6. I initially was going in for the V8 but felt the V6 had enough power since I was not planning to tow anything. Overall I love the vehicle. The technology package is really awesome and I dont know how I lived without Adaptive Cruise control before. The auto start is a jewel to have as the cabin cools down in hot Texas by the time I get inside. Everyone who gets inside is impressed with the stitching, the pano roof, and the comfort. Two things to watch for. Just the other night I hit the button to open the power tailgate and it tried to open but didnt. I hit the button again and it opened with no problem so Ill be watching that. The other thing is the center console is ultra flimsy. I just know it will break a few times before I get rid of the vehicle. When you open it, it is very weak and wobbly so that needs to be addressed. Other thank that Im in love and hope to have many miles of happy driving.

Love the GC - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jonathan - July 8 - 9:30 pmI like this Jeep a lot. Light Khaki shows the lines very favorably, and I like the looks a lot, although they do tend to polarize opinions. It has enough power for my needs even with the V6, and the price was amazing. It is fun to drive, has room for my family and our stuff, and is great to drive up to northern Michigan or to Target. As of now (3 months) no complaints.

Top of SUVs for its class - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Mayor - July 7 - 10:00 amDrove sedans for 8 years, then bought my Jeep. A great upgrade. Fuel not great, but extremely comfortable on road trips. Handles great, comfortable steering, standard options were the selling point. Suspension is awesome. Four-wheel drives works great in the mountains on muddy roads as well as snow covered roads. All in all, went in with high expectations, and I was not at all dissappointed. Definitely will strongly consider buying again

Night and Day - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By ratchet1 - July 5 - 7:14 amTraded 2009 Grand Cherokee with LUX Pkg, 3.7 Ltr eng for 2011 Laredo E w/tow pkg and 3.6 ltr eng. More equipment now is standard and the eng blows away the 3.7 noisey, slow, fuel thirsty engine. The ride is night and day different with the fully independent rear suspension. The quietness of driving 80 MPH down an interstate and hear yourself THINKING is unbelievable for an off road type vehicle. Dealer gave good discount upon purchase. Drove Ford Edge Limited and did not like the fact of FWD versus RWD when needing tow power. Edge is limited to 3500 lbs,Jeep tows 5000lbs. Ford would not budge on price either!

Its not perfect, but its good. - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By CanonGuy - July 3 - 3:30 pmPurchased because a previous Grand Cherokee had over 300,000 miles before it was wrecked. Few problems. Brakes need to be replaced, passenger side heater failed and was expensive to fix. The holders for the hood dont work. Blew both front speakers in the dash. Dont like the fact that the cd changer is in the back. Door seals dont fit correctly. There is an issue with the oil pressure sensor. On rare occasions it says it drops to 0, then the car shuts off, but nothing is wrong with it; if you rev the engine it keeps the pressure up. The gas mileage stinks, but its a V8 so its expected.

love my 65th edition - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By lo123 - July 3 - 12:36 pmI bought my 65th edition back in Sept. 2006. I absolutely love it. The only thing I dont love is the gas mileage especially with gas at $4 a gallon. I dont plan on getting rid of it anytime soon though. I only need to fill up every 2 weeks since most of my driving is local. I dont mind the plastic interior. I actually like it because it makes it easier to clean. I had a 2001 Jeep Cherokee which I also really enjoyed. I love having the extra features on the Laredo that are included with the 65th edition. I really enjoy driving my jeep!

Good and Bad - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Charlie Brown - July 2 - 10:00 amFor the most part I love my jeep. However, I bought it with about 78,000 miles and got to about 100K before starting to have problem after problem. All my issues center around the serpentine belt...weve replace every motor or compressor attached to it as well as the tensioner arm (too many times to count). Weve also had to replace the CV joints and boots on both sides. I think its a bad design and thats why so many of us have had to replace items working off the serpentine belt. We get one thing fixed thats attached to the serpentine belt and then something else on the belt needs to be fixed...sigh...

Run Away from this vehicle - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By DG - July 2 - 1:30 amThis is perhaps the worst vehicle Ive ever owned. The materials used in the interior of the car are almost laughable. The Hemi does not give any more performance than my older BMW X5 with a 3.0, excluding towing. I currently get 13.5 mpg. Ive had it in for repair 4 times for various fault codes. Traction control cuts power for a long period of time even when slowly crossing railroad tracks. I honestly cant think of anything good to say about the car. Im just glad its a company vehicle and it will get turned in shortly. Stay away from this vehicle at all costs. I wanted to buy American--but I should have bought an import made in America. Look at the Nissan Armada, BMW X5 as alternates.
