Model Overview:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

  • Great SUV - 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I love my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It was expensive, I have cloth interior; which I prefer. I have chrome trim. Its very comfortable, nice looking, acceleration is very good. It handles pretty good for as big as it is. I absolutely love it! Highly recommend.

  • Great SUV! - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is my first Jeep and I absolutely love it! Got it with the 4.7 V8 with Quadra Trac. If youre like me and you want your SUV to have real capabilities (towing, off road/inclement weather, cargo etc.) the Grand Cherokee is the way to go. Yes, it rides like a truck, but thats because its a truck, with truck like capability! Looks great at deer camp as well as cruising downtown. My wife has a Trailblazer, which has about 40 more HP, but its a dog compared to the Grand Cherokee. Few minor issues since purchase, including worn out sway bar bushings, and a popping sound from steering whee -l- both replaced under warranty with redesigned parts. Fuel economy is decent. Again, its a truck, its not supposed to get 30 mpg.

  • 5th Grand Cherokee Still Needs Improved - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Ive had 5 from 94 up and theyre getting better but once again, with 60,000 miles I am suspicious of future repair costs after the lease is up, so will trade it in. I absolutely LOVE this car but reliability is mediocre and 5-star dealer service and Chryslers hotline for warranty issues are disappointments. I weekly tow a trailer and the car does well; this one has the quiet Select-Trac because axle whine from both my last 2 Jeeps with Quadra-Trac eventually was intolerable at 60 mph. But - easy to get stuck on wet grass - no limited slip. Had to replace seat heater, gauge cluster, starter, brakes twice, & all chrome wheels twice - no warr 2nd time!

This car is just what I expected it to be. I love it! It is the best riding SUV I have ever owned and it still goes off road with confidence.

  • Lemon - 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The vehicle basically started falling apart at 4,000 miles; multiple trips to the service department at the dealership, out of the last 6 months it has spent 38 days (and counting) in the service department. There is something wrong in the electronics/software with these vehicles. Jeep & Chrysler offer no help - in their own words "we cannot do anything".

  • Test drive - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

When I was test driving the car the noticed when I accelerated the car was very lound inside the car then when the dealer drove it say it wasnt lound. What does that mean is there anything wrong?

  • Bad Brake rotors - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I recently bought this car used with 51000 miles on it. Its is a great car but all the brake rotors where warped and I replaced all of them. The brake pada where ok and where reused, The milage seem to be in the 16 to 20 MPG range depending on the driving. It has the 4,7 ci in engin with Quadrtrack.
