Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Like it! - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Renzo - December 11 - 8:33 pmBought used with 24K on it. Have had to have the blend (heater) door fixed - entire dash dismantled, but successful. Had a power window break because it was froze shut and I tried to open it. Dealer where I bought it has NOT been helpful - in fact I would have to say they STINK. Another dealer has been GREAT! They got Jeep to pay for parts off-warranty and fixed things promptly and correctly. Seat could be a bit wider, other than that I love the vehicle, I just hope it keeps running and $2 parts quit breaking that cost $1000 to fix!

Sparkling performer - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By pep - December 9 - 1:13 pmThird Limited owned. Best by far. Hemi is king. Quick and smooth acceleration. Monster on the highway. Gas guzzles for sure but what do you expect from a 340 hp performer in an SUV that loves to be hammered? Off road ops is sweet and steady. Jeep knows how to track in the trenches. Let it snow.

This is my 8th Jeep - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By MJM - December 7 - 10:45 amI lease a new Jeep Grand Cherokee every three years and I have never had a disappointing year. Jeep has always been, for me, an excellent vehicle to drive and, with that said, the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude is no exception. I am pleased in every way, except one. The one item that is very annoying is the engine start-stop function when the brakes are applied. I understand the logic behind this function but, if anyone at Jeep Corporate is listening, PLEASE reprogram the override button so that it does not reset itself every time the engine is cycled on and off. Potential customers should definitely test drive the Jeep before purchase or lease and determine for themselves if they can tolerate the start-stop function. The salesman generally do not mention this function unless asked directly.

Summit Step Rail - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By thejudge410 - December 7 - 8:26 amI purchased the Summit after many months of study and test driving 2013 and 14 models. I needed a step rail for family member safety and ability to use the vehicle. At the time of delivery I was informed Chrysler did not have a step rail that would fit the Summit. I could not believe it so I took delivery thinking they were wrong. A 2nd Chrysler dealer said there must be a problem in the computer because it showed 2014 as accepting the step rail but my VIN not accepting the step rail. As of today, no one has a step rail and I have a 52,000 car my wife can not get into and drive. No after market available either. I googled the problem and found a Jeep Forum question dated Oct 2013.

Love it! - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Stacy - December 7 - 3:10 amWeve had our Jeep for about 4 years. It has over 230,000 miles and weve only had to replace the transmission and water pump. It is safe in the Wisconsin winters with our child, or pulling our two horse trailer anytime.

great little truck - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By john r - December 6 - 10:00 amThe jeep handles wellin all situation. The 4.7 is quick off the line, and just loafs at70. back seat a little tight for six footers with tall driver and passenger up front. Pulls my popup like it wasnt even there. After almost seven thousand miles I have no complaints and I spend a lot of time in the car. Not as cushy a ride as the 2000 Lesabre it replaced, but a whole lot more fun to drive.

Had to replace the drivers door, but its been a very good rig for me. I love it and plan to keep it for a long time.

Great SUV! - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By BillBatts - December 4 - 10:00 amI have had people stop me in the parking lot and tell me that they used to have a Cherokee in the 90s, and the raw looks of the 2011 will get them back in a new Cherokee. I am absolutely in love with this vehicle! It is 4" wider, 2" taller and 2" shorter in length. The finish is fantastic. The technology is amazing. The ride is tight and it is very roomy for someone 61".

Better than expected - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By r atk - December 4 - 10:00 amAs the owner of a BMW X5, I was not expecting the quality and performance I got with the new 2011 Cherokee. so far its great! Firm solid ride with better than average ergonomics. best of all its a true all terrain four wheel drive. If it holds up half as well as my trade in, (1993 Laredo 206,000 miles) I will be happy.
