The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

  Its incomprehensible to me that Jeep continues to ignore the problems on the 14 GC. There are innumerable reports of issues with this vehicle, and frankly, Im very suspect of any positive reviews. My 14 Limited was purchased in July and it has been to the shop at least 7 times. Im in rental cars constantly, and the vehicle is still not right. From the transmission, to the unintentional radio presets clearing, to the issues with the driver seat (now being replaced), etc., etc. And thousands of people are having similar issues. Less than 6k miles, and its been an expensive, time consuming mess.

  I love my Jeep. Has provided style and comfort while driving with few problems. It is versatile and is a great traveling vehicle or running errands.

  I just got the 2010 Grand Cherokee Limited and I love it. First off it came with everything you can think of stander. The 5.7 Hemi made the jeep what it is. I test drove many other trucks and nothing came close to these. I had 4 other Grand Cherokee so I know what I was getting

  Great comfortable reliable Jeep - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee

  I bought my jeep used with 60k miles in 2005 and it now has a little over 95k. I love it! It is very comfortable and fun to drive. The limited trim really makes it upscale and the leather seats are like pillows very nice. The exterior and interior are very nice and the build quality is good. Better than the new 05+ grand cherokees in my opinion. The newer ones just seem cheaper. The 4.7L V8 is a great powerful engine that still gets pretty good gas mileage. The V8 really makes this jeep a fun to drive suv not to mention it tows my boat great. My jeep has only required normal service. No major or expensive repairs. Would recommend this suv and would buy another one.

  My 2002 Grand Cherokee was a great buy. Ive only had a handful of minor issues with it...nothing that one wouldnt expect from driving 25-40 miles per day in city traffic. But with an average of 18-23mpg or so, its not unreasonable at all. Its a bit squirrelly on the freeway, but it has amazing control in town. Driving in Houston, Austin and Dallas has been a breeze, even when hauling 5 folks or a full load of "stuff". Ill be drivin the wheels off mine. Unless of course I get a newer one. (ThatÂ’s why Im back to Edmunds). Someone looking for a fair sized SUV with good city driving characteristics wont be disappointed.

  Even though I read several reviews like this, I still convinced myself that buying this car was a good investment. My warning to anyone considering buying this is car is that anything can go wrong with it any day. If you do buy one, get the most service coverage you can, and make sure it goes over 100 K miles, or sell it by then.

  My Jeep has exceeded any and all of my expectations. Its a great vehicle. With 150,000 miles and still going strong I cant say enough good things.

  Very nice vehicle for Snowy locations - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

  I have had quite a few jeeps before but this was my first grand cherokee. Like some others I have had brake issues. But I would not consider it a problem. The V8 engine is really nice and the 4x4 system is awsome. It performs better in the snow than my girlfriends 03 Lexus RX300. Besides looks thats about the only way the jeep beats out the lexus but for an american full size SUV you cant beat it. The seats are the most comfortable I have ridden in period. Take a test drive and see for yourself.
