Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Awesome Jeep - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By G Adkins - February 3 - 9:46 amFirst Jeep Grand Cherokee. Overland. 4X4. V8. I love this SUV. Great value It is comparable to BMW, Mercedes and Porsche. The cost is much less but performance is great. I have had no problems with the Jeep. Great acceleration. Just did 3000 mile road trip, very comfortable. No problem with long hill climbs fully loaded V8 easily keeps speed and accelerates well.

BEAUTIFUL NOT RELIABLE - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By starbucksfreak - February 3 - 2:00 amBought at 36K. Immediately after the dealers 60 day warranty expired the transmission stripped completely and had to be replaced. The check engine light comes on about once a week - its always something, though usually minor. Heated seats circuit blew B4 I even bought it. This car has THE MOST comfortable seats Ive ever had, and is the only car that doesnt bother my bad back. Interior fit and finish is nice, too. Good firm ride though trucklike motor noise comes straight into driving compartment, becomes grating on long trips. BIG problem is that car will not start on even a slight grade if the gas tank falls below one-quarter!!

2nd Jeep and really happy with it. - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Stephen - January 31 - 8:20 amThis is my second Jeep and after reading what some people have had very bad luck with their Jeep I though I woud put mine here. I have had mine since 2002 and have not had any Major issue except the breaks this is a known issue with them, I change the breaks myself and save a ton the other Major issue was changing the coil pack but after 145,000 miles I figured it was due so it did not other me. One issue I had was a transmission sensor that was bad but it died during warrenty period so no harm no foul. I pull a camper with this Jeep and it always is there when I need the power. If you do the maintenance on it for the most part it should treat you fine.

This Is A Great SUV When You Compare - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By r461 - January 31 - 4:36 amThis is my 3rd Jeep Grand Cherokee. It does exactly what an SUV is supposed to do with lots of room and easy handling. I drove the competitors and this is hands down the best value for the money.

Great SUV - 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Brian - January 31 - 2:26 amOwned this vehicle for 5 years, 80K miles. Great on gas (compared to other mid-size SUVs). Very reliable. Great in the snow, much better than my 2000 Mountaineer. Only problem - had to have power lock motors replaced on 2 doors.

Wont buy one again. - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By yiterrp - January 29 - 10:00 amLess than 9000 miles and Ive had it in twice for power steering problems. It will be going back for the same pboblem. The dealership appears to be unable to correct the problem. Gas mileage is poor, interior noise is much too high.

Jeep Grand Cherokee a 4 Star Car in a 5 Star World - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Tyler Hoffmann - January 28 - 9:39 pmI bought my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 on July 1, 2015. Took it off the lot with 25 miles on it, next day down to the ranch for some 4x4ing, performed great (even with the stock Michelin tires). Next week I was towing my 3500lb boat and a car load of friends. Again, the Jeep performed. I also work in a higher profile office, one where we wine and dine our clients. Again the Jeep performed well, numerous comments from clients. The only faults I have had are related to the transmission. After about 1500 miles it began to clunk and shift erratically. I took it to the dealer and they performed a TCM update and it has since fixed the problem. Granted I have only owned the Jeep for less than a month, however I figured this should have been installed from the factory, not a few weeks after. If youre new to Jeeping, check out JeepForum.com, more specifically the Easter Egg section. Found alot of useful information there. MPG has been so so, around 14 in the city and 25 on the highway. Only regret is not getting one with more options, as I can see this is going to be a vehicle I will want to hold on to.

Very Disappointed - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Raquel - January 25 - 8:43 pmI purchased this vehicle in 2004 with 19k miles. I thought I was getting a great vehicle for the price. Turns out the saying is true "You get what you pay for." In 2005, I had to have the cooling engine fan replaced (thanks for the extended warranty that was purchased but still had to pay). In 2006, I had the exact same problem- cooling fan replaced. In 2007, the hood struts went bad along with the gas cap that had to be replaced. In 2008, I had to have get the transmission rebuilt. The driver side window will not work nor will the left tail light (new bulbs, still doesnt work). I am not FIXING another thing, Im getting rid of this piece of junk. To date this vehicle ONLY has 66,800 miles!!

Jeeps are #1 - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Doctortom - January 24 - 10:00 amThey have the best drive train SUV. They use the old Jeep 4 Wheel system that is very durable. Ive driven almost every SUV and the Jeep was very comfortable but yet very rugged and made to handle the off road. Ive owned about 10 Jeeps over the years and would not trade them for any other SUV. I wanted a vehicle that I knew I could depend on in bad weather. Last winter in NW PA)I drove right through the 4 foot high (plus)drifts in my driveway without even clearing a path and didnt get stuck once. I was on my way to pull a family members Explorer out of the snow that was stuck trying to get out of there driveway.
