Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Never Again - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Mike Mensing - April 4 - 10:00 amMy first Jeep Grand Cherokee was a 1997 model with the V8. It was a wonderful vehicle except for the gas mileage. When my lease came up I opted for the new and improved version, a 2000 model. This vehicle has been in the shop more times than my previous 3 vehicles combined. The service staff knows my name when I walk up to the counter. I complained enough that Chrysler put new front rotors on my vehicle at 37,000 miles. Other problems to note: power windows, keyless entry forgetting codes, vehicle not starting due to computer system,....I could go on and on. I will never buy another Chrysler product!

whats better then a jeep - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By diablo1111d1 - March 30 - 11:32 ambrought my jeep grand cherokee larado 2x4 used 1 year ago and i love.brought it as a 2nd car for the weekends to go to the beach, rivers and mountains.i live in dominican republic and the roads to the beaches and rivers are really rocky.wanted a suv with true off road capability and that could take a pounding with rough roads.thats what the jeep brand is made 4 and thats what it does.love the air suspension shocks.i v never had a problem yet with my jeep.i see alot of people writing bad comments but i dont understand why.every car or suv in time i guess needs some type of maintance.no car or suv is perfect.u eventually will have to replace parts.jeep takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

This is my 4th Jeep and Im still loving them. - 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Dave - March 30 - 3:56 amThe Grand Cherokee has the perfect interior design. The instrumentation is logical, well organized, and very practical. The exterior looks are rugged enough for fun, but also professional for the office. The only major complaint that I have is the start/stop function. I wish you could change it to default to off when you start the car. I also wish the rear lift gate was height adjustable. However, those are minor issues that are overshadowed by the overall design of the car.

So Far So Good - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Thomas - March 29 - 7:20 pmThis is the first Jeep I have purchased. Overall it has been very good. 8000 miles to date so it is still new. A/C will whistle with the medium fan setting. Ride is great. Power is good. Have the Rocky Mountain Package which makes the Laredo more of a Limited. No real complaints to this point. I would recommend this Jeep to other potential buyers.

Love My Jeep - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Love My Jeep - March 28 - 9:03 pmI have 118+K miles on my Jeep and the only thing that has gone wrong is the water pump. During last years snow storm in Kentucky, I pulled out two 18 wheelers and 23 other cars and trucks. Its like the Energizer Bunny, it just keeps going, and going. Im debating whether to keep it for another three or four years or trade it in on a newer model.

Pleasantly Surprised - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Sluggo - March 26 - 10:00 amHaving owned several SUVs in the past it was a surprise to find the quality and comfort the Grand offers. I spend a lot of time in my Jeep so the A/C, stero, and seats really mean a lot. The best keep secret is you can get a plain Grand with a V-8. It handles well and the fit is excellent. The Daimler crowd has done a nice job of fixing the past problems. I tried it off road and was surprised to find it handled well on dirt. Always owning 4X4s in the past it was hard to keep going, but I went safely into areas I would never try in some of the vehicles Ive owned. Overall it is a good package and offers more than I expected.

Stay Away - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Turbo K - March 23 - 4:10 amI purchased a used 2005 Grand Cherokee with the HEMI and it is the biggest joke on the road, if it ever gets on the road. It is a disgrace to the HEMI and Mopar brand. I test drove it, and all was great. I bought it, brought it home (20 miles from the dealer), and it promptly died. It took 3 days to get the idiotic thing started again. Every time you put the key in and try to start it, the language of the display keeps changing. First, it was English. After that, it went to Spanish, German, and what I think was Portuguese. It hasnt gotten back to English, yet. I set all the setting like the seat position and pedal distance for me, but it keeps flipping back to factory settings. When trying to get back to the dealership, it sputtered the whole way, and had a horrible rattling ion the back end somewhere. I would never buy another used one, and it has pretty much soured me to the whole Jeep brand, unless we talk old school 2-door Cherokees and any of the CJs. This thing is proof that Jeep should have never strayed from its roots. Its like when VW started making water-cooled cars, which are just as worthless.
