Model Overview:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

It could be an excellent vehicle, sharp looking, fun to drive and all the bells. But there is where it stops. My first american car after over 18 years of Japanese and German. To put it short, the most expensive and also worst vehicle I have ever bought/owner. Just within 5000 miles I had the car at the dealership for the same electronic issue and they still could not figured it out. I never had so much stress owning any vehicle. Finally I had enough and traded it in after only five months of ownership. What a pity. It is absolutely sad, that Chrysler has not more pride in their product. Consequently this will be my last Chrysler product ever.

Purchased new in 2001. What a mistake, I should have gone for the 4-Runner. I have had to replaced all rotors, calipers and pads twice within the first 25K mi. Three window regulators so far at a whopping $225 each. The reverse gears went out of the transmission. Had to have it rebuilt at a cost of $1800. Idle control value went bad at 75K. Almost forgot, had the have the leaking plastic radiator replaced also.

I always wanted a SUV and we had 2 paid off vehicles so didnt really want to go buy one. Then we wrecked our truck so we decided to replace it with an SUV. Not knowing Id be getting an SUV soon I just went test driving different SUVs. Bought this because I loved the ride. Ive had it 2 years now. It had kind of high miles when I got it but I work 1 mile from home so the miles are not adding up fast anymore. I love love love it. Ive had no problems whatsoever. Does great in our Utah snow.

I am the orginal owner of my Jeep and after 150,000 miles it still looks and runs wonderful. The interior has generally held up but it rattles more than Id like it to, but this vehicle is 10 years old so its expected. Ive replaced the water pump, radiator and catalytic converter and had the trasnmission rebuilt at about 100k. These problems are typical over the years, however, the brakes have always been a nightmare. Other than that, I love this vehicle and plan to keep it for many years to come.

The 4.7L V8 has handled every condition possible for the Northern VA/DC area. The powerful engine is amazing, and is awesome on hills. It can handle off- road, to a stroll in the neighborhood. The car has been built to meet great standards. Not only does the car look powerful, the Jeep is meticulously pieced together with strong, and reliable parts. When it all comes together, it is an agressive 4x4 that gives you the horsepower you love and luxury you need. Many people underestimate the capabilities of the Grand Cherokee, but they then learn that the SUV has one of the highest rated off-road suspensions in its class.

It is a fun and smooth ride. It is fun off road but does not feel like the rugged feel when youre off road

This is my first Jeep, and now I finally know what Jeep owners have been raving about all these years. What a great truck, from the sharp looks to the fun of driving it. Great on the highway, Ive gotten up to 23 mpg on long trips ( I have the 4.7 V8 ). I dont do nearly as ggod around town, 13- 15 mpg. All on 87 octane. Comfortable on the inside. I live in the northeast and get snow in the winter and this thing is terrific in the snow. Overall a great vehicle. Biggest drawback is the poor gas mileage, but thats the trade-off. Great truck for bad gas mileage.

The car is very nice to drive but this is what weve been dealing with so far and it has only been 8K miles Random error messages about network error. Last door to be closed has to be slammed shut. Navigation thinks it is a block left or right from current location. Cruise control randomly shuts off. Buttons on steering wheel and on the control cluster getting stuck and locking down everything else. Voice control absolutely horrible. This is just a fraction of what we have been going through https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIAzAu0scMY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-ITCrE1oro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWoZPb0Yt88
