Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

A dream come true - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By n0riebel - September 10 - 11:50 pmThe new GC sure lived up to all the hype, at least in our opinion. Jeep designers really listened to all the suggestions that customers had to offer, making this a best buy. We chose the Limited with the upgraded NAV and Tow Package. The Panoramic Sunroof is my wifes favorite feature of the new Jeep. The ride is superb, noise levels inside are significantly lower than anything in its class (that we could find). A normal conversation can be held while traveling at highway speeds. We average 24mpg highway @ 70mph, 19.5mpg city- of course this will get better once the vehicle breaks-in. 1800miles and only a small issue with compatibility with our iPhones & the USB plug in the console.

2nd Grand Cherokee - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jim09901 - September 10 - 2:00 amThis is the 2nd Grand Cherokee with my first being a 1996. I am extremely happy with the purchase I made. I like the new styling of the later models (WJs) and I find the Quadra- Trac II system to be very effective. The interior is very comfortable (Im 64") and I find even the standard options to be very good.

120,000 miles going for 200,000 miles - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By steve abraham - September 7 - 11:04 pmI have a gray 2006 Jeep and I love it. I have put it through a hard life, driving upstate, and in NYC, in the worst weather and in blistering heat. This Jeep always performd well and is still a very comfortable ride. I had several repair issues, but after 100,000 miles they are expected. new radiator, battery, starter, all standard stuff. The engine is strong, tranny is tight. Darn oxygen sensors have to be changed and they are costly, but it is better than having old carburators. I love my steel colored jeep and I hope to make another review here at 200,000 miles. ps I bought this off lease at two years old, with 18,000 miles, for about $18,000.00

Jeep Got it Right - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Drew - September 7 - 8:00 amMy 2005 Jeep Cherokee Limited 5.7L with chrome rims, back-up sensors, back seat entertainment, satellite radio and 7500 lb. tow package has proven to be great fun to drive, comfortable for my passengers, and eye catching. The separate climate controls with duel infrared sensor works very well creating two separate environment. The MDS 5.7L engine mileage is 13 to 19mpg with smooth power delivery to all four tires. The tire pressure monitors (also in the spare) is comforting because Jeep displays the pressure for each tire right on the instrument panel. Jeep has integrated Bluetooth, CD, DVD, Sat Radio, and GPS on a single intranet bus. The IgKey is a small computer. It is my work horse.

I love my jeep :) - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By amd8153 - September 4 - 2:00 amBefore buying my jeep I was a bit skeptical as to how reliable the jeep was because of everyones complaints and reviews. I got mine used and have had no problems with it. The car rides and looks great. Its fun to drive and my leather seats are extremely comfortable. The infinity stereo system is like no other. I love the radio controls on the steering wheel, the huge cargo space, and the sunroof. I would recommend getting this car fully loaded with all the neat gadgets. My recommendation for people looking at jeeps is to test drive one before you base your decision on the other unfortunate horror stories

Beware - unseen bugs - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By brad - September 3 - 4:13 pmTransmission is slow to engage at times, acts like it is slipping, you gas it and it free revs, exhaust manifold leak, limp mood is triggered sometimes by transmission issue resets to 3rd gear and is very slow, battery already went bad 3 years old (special expensive battery needed), surging at idle, dealership services, they have only fixed the manifold, numerous attempts by dealership but have never fixed. They could never get it to do it and the service manager would never return my messages. Had differential fluid changed and they charged me an extra $60.00 to just shut off the light. Planning on taking some where else to fix.

My first Jeep product - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jeepboy - September 3 - 12:40 amBasic SUV not to be mistaken for a soccer mom urban assault vehicle. Even with comfort features like leather, sunroof and power seats, its still a SUV through and through. Besides the gas consumption, which gets better and better with each mile put on it. (Im up to 17 mpg!) Its not a car; f I wanted a car I would have purchased a car. Great SUV and even greater price.

Mixed bag, hvac system. Buyer beware! - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By pa350z2006 - September 2 - 4:12 amI traded in a Honda pilot as my Honda pilot had the VCM issues. This car is so quiet on the highway compared to Honda. It definitely feels more luxurious than a Honda pilot. The ride in the car is good considering its a true SUV. However I would advise you before purchasing this car to try out the heat controls in the vehicle. On a cold day turn it to manual at 60° and see how hot the air comes out the vents. It turns the car into a sauna and then goes a complete reversal and blows cold air in. The Jeep dealership told me that is because even in manual mode its behaving like a thermostat trying to get the car of 60°. For this reason alone I hate driving the vehicle.

WISH I BOUGHT A CHEVY - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By LLR - August 30 - 10:43 pmThe Jeep Grand Cherokee looks nice, but there are problems with the design of the 2005. I bought mine in June 2005; in October I took it in for service because the air conditioner didnt work. The told me its not covered under warranty because something from the road hit it and put a hole in it. Now I thought this was an off road SUV. There is a gap under the bumper thats at least 1 foot by 2 foot with no protection at all. The customer care center didnt seem to care that the car was 3 months old and only had 3500 miles on it. Sorry Nature caused your problems. It wasnt nature, it was a bad design and should be covered.
