Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Reliable SUV - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By tortislc - January 12 - 1:06 pmI bought this vehicle with 140,000 miles and it runs really good! I had a couple of sensors go out, but the dealer replaced them. Other than that, it is awesome! It got me around in the Blizzard of 06 in Colorado! Excellent sound system, love the leather, just looks like new! I will buy another Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited when the time comes and give this one to my son!

HARD TO BEAT A JEEP - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By matsr - January 11 - 7:04 pmA wrangler or Grand Cherokee is hard to beat. The 96-98 years for the ZJ was one of the best. Highly modifiable and good for off road and trailer/boat towing. Get you about the same place as a wrangler will go. Have had both; now we have as a second vehicle, our 3rd 96 Laredo with 4.0 liter six with 4x4.

We Have Been Very Pleased - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Houston Steve - January 11 - 10:00 amWe have had no major repairs or problems with this vehicle and found it had plenty of storage and elbow room. The factory CD-Changer and speakers did quit working, which I learned is a common problem.

120,000 Miles, No Problems! - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jeep lover - January 11 - 2:56 amI bought this Jeep new, and after 120,000 miles, I have done nothing other than the ordinary tuneups and brakes. Have the big V8 and still get 19-20 highway. Use it everywhere and mild offroad. Seems bullet-proof!

Fun and Functional - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By urbanwest - January 6 - 3:53 pmMy Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the 330hp hemi engine is an absolute blast. Although its difficult to pass a gas station without stopping to top up. If you can ignore the horrendous gas mileage its great fun to drive. What caught my eye initially was the new aggressive styling. After an inordinate period of time researching and test driving, the Jeep won hands down. The drive is smooth and comfortable and the acceleration is a rush. It offers far more bang for the buck than BMW or Infinity with all the creature comforts and then some. Perfect for us 60+ guys.

Best vehicle around - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By ptv99jgc - January 6 - 10:00 amI have had my Jeep for a few years now. In the beginning it had a couple simple problems that were quickly fixd under warranty. Mechanics of vehicle seem are designed with the do-it- yourselfer in mind. I perform all maintenance myself and my Jeep has never let me down. Routine maintenance is the key. I am presently approaching 70K and it runs as good or better than new. Jeep is perfect if you need one vehicle to get you to the office every day, go camping and bring all your stuff with you. You can also tow your favorite toys with you. I could go on forever, but I will summarize, Best do it all vehicle you can get.

Real Quality, Real Value - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Donw - January 6 - 10:00 amSince I purchased my Overland, I have found this vechile to be everything I had wanted from a 4wd, V8, vechile. As a previous Cherokee owner that had already been sold on the value of the Jeep brand, the new Overland has impresssed me with its appearance, power, comfort and all around quality. Hats off to the Chrysler / Jeep team.
