Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

2011 Grand Cherokee - Owners Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By XTalath - August 5 - 10:00 amAny new vehicle is a mixed bag of hope and disappointment. My 2011 JEEP Grand Cherokee is no different. If Chrysler was looking for this vehicle to reinvigorate the JEEP line, they should have ditched the penny pinching and built a better vehicle. I was most perturbed at the crippleware electronics. Buttons exist for features that are not enabled. Im not keen on paying another $1,200 for three dip-switches to be flipped on electronics that are already in my vehicle. Having the chance to really bring forward a WOW vehicle. Chrysler is still "business as usual". Fail

Upstate NY Monster - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Rob H - July 31 - 2:00 amWith long winters and over 110" of snow, The Jeep JC is the monster of the midway. I traded a 2000 JC Limited, which I drove for 80K miles without incident (OK, the usual warped rotors). The Inferno Red Overland is a real head turner. Gas Mileage is poor as expected. Comofort and ride are excellent. DVD Nav system is great for trips away from home. Easily find Gas, ATMs, or food by type. Thrilled to be an Overland owner!

By Alan B - July 31 - 2:00 amI bought the laredo, Freedom. We were sold the Freedom as they were out of stock on the regular Laredos. Car is terrible on bumbs, terrible on highways and terrible on city streets. I live in NY. It might be good off road but this is the worst car I have purchased.

Amazing - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By srt8fan - July 30 - 2:30 pmThis is a really great car, ive never had any problems that the other people wrote about. Its not great on gas but what would you expect with the engine, no less its my daily driver. Every time i get into my car somewhere people come up to me and ask me questions, its pretty awesome it gets so much attention yet still a jeep. I dont miss any of my past cars until owning this. I use it everyday for to and from work and it never gives me a problem. i guess i lucked out like everyone has had something go wrong, i probably would have had a problem by now since it already has 66k.

Outstanding Vehicle - 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By automan - July 30 - 10:00 amBought this car used with 22000 miles and have driven 44000 since then. Ride is very comfortable on long road trips as well as in urban setting. Fuel economy on the highway is good at about 23 miles per gallon but get only about 17 in an urban-highway mix. Car has had no mechanical problems since I bought it. This car has the V-8 engine and it is very powerful - that probably is why gas mileage is as it is. i would recommend this model to anyone interested and particularly for off- road and hauling (trailer).

I Get it Now! - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By gmacgreg - July 30 - 8:46 amJeep owners have long enjoyed a special relationship with their vehicles. Unless and until you own one its hard to imagine getting excited over a car, especially if you dont consider yourself a "car person." At the urging of my wife, I decided to give an SUV a try. I couldnt be any happier; JEEP has definitely got it going. The comfort level is excellent on short or long drives. The rigid ride takes some getting use to, but only adds to the overall experience. Navigation is a bit clunky, but well worth it. I was amazed at the performance of the 4WD and put it to the test with back to back 24" snow falls; childs play. 21 MPG hwy, not bad. Reliable, zero problems. JEEP. I Get it Now!

My favorite car - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Teresa Payne - July 27 - 4:13 amMy Jeep has been a great blessing. I have enjoyed driving in the city, felt safe in the floods (did not go out when I did not have to) and have had a blast on the dirt. The V8 engine saved my life as I was able to get out of the way of an out of control car spinning toward me. The acceleration that is possible is something that you would expect from a sports car.

Not your moms SUV - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jeep 4 Life - July 25 - 5:20 amIve had my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee for 5 months now. It replaced my 95 Jeep with 185,000 miles and still running strong. This is my third Jeep; my only complaint is the interior plastic is not a good as it should be on a $31,000 SUV. Ride comfort is a little bumpy but acceptable. If you dont intend to take drive off road you may want to look at a Toyota or Honda instead. Off road nothing is better than a Jeep 4x4. With good set of A/T tires, Grand Cherokees can follow a Wrangler Rubicon almost anywhere except extreme rock crawling. You will probably be the limiting factor in where you attempt to take it. Window regulator broke -- dealer repaired so it cost $0.

2008 Diesel Grand Cherokee - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By osogrande65 - July 24 - 12:16 pmGreat hopes for the Daimler Chrysler spawn. The Mercedes diesel 3.0 V6 remains spectacular. The Jeep QuadraTrak is amazing, when it works. Mine is so unreliable that, in the 77 months that I have owned it, I have not had the use of it for 14 of those months. First the tranny at 35k (in the end Jeeps Chief Engineer diagnosed the problem), 6 months in shop; the rear end at 60k, in a month, centre differential at 75k, 2 months in shop, centre diff again, at 80k. Now at 115k the tranny and centre diff apparently have badly leaking seals and both are being pulled and repaired to be safe (3 months so far). No warranty now so $3500 plus GST. I AM NOT HAPPY! I will not buy another Chrysler product
