Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Finally purchased my 2005 Hemi JGC - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Mark - April 30 - 11:33 amI reviewed all the owner comments on this site prior to purchase and it helped tremendously. I cant say enough good things. I was very happy with the deal I got. Sticker $43,387.00 and I took it off the lot for $35,710.00. If you are going to spend this kind of money on a Jeep please consider getting the available options. Mine is loaded with the exception of the back seat DVD Player. After using the Navigation system and the U-Connect system for the telephone system I would never purchase another car without it. The ride is the smoothest of any Jeep I have driven. If you want a Jeep get the JGC Limited with the options.

Love My JEEP! - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Kitten - April 28 - 8:03 pmMy boyfriend bought this as a gift. I absolutely love it. The only problem Ive had with it so far was when it snowed and I was rocking myself out of my parking spot and the ABS & brake light came on. I freaked out! I ran upstairs and read my manual and I thought that this was gonna be a nightmare. To my surprise after a couple of days when the snow subsided and I drove to the gas station, the lights went off. BIG SIGH OF RELIEF. City miles is a killer since I live in NY, but when I travel highway miles the mileage is fantastic. So in the city especially I drive in overdrive to optimize gas mileage. Love this body model, dont care for the 2005 or 2006 model styles-they look boxy.

Best Jeep Ive Owned - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By ArcadeTom - April 25 - 12:30 pmI replaced a 1996 Grand Cherokee with this 2004 in Nov. 2003. I liked my old one, but this one is fantastic. It rides great, handles very fine and once I rid myself of the factory Goodyear tires (replaced with Michelin LTX MS), this Jeep will literally go anywhere I want to go. I absolutely LOVE IT!

Excellent car...but... - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jallahansen - April 25 - 10:00 amIts been a great car. I bought it new, and since it was the first year of the "new" style, I would think some problems were to be expected... No show stoppers at all, but changed 6 electrical windows in the first 2 years (yes, you read right - 2 of them had to be changed twice), because they stopped working. Breaks disks tend to warp quite frequently, and hence you should expect some at least minor break problems every 18-24 months or so. Also changed 2 computers. No drive train or engine problems at all though. Very reliable engine/drivetrain.

Overall a very happy owner. - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By mowog2 - April 24 - 5:44 amWe have had this vehicle for 14 months and 40,000 miles. So far both the puchase and ownership experiences have been good ones. Power with the V6 requires lots of RPMs as a small V6 is propelling a 5000+ pound vehicle BUT, the upside is that same 5000+ pound vehicle getting on average about 23 MPG at 70 MPH on the highway. A downside is the navigation system which is near useless and best plan on having a Garmin mounted to the windshield...!!! Our only warrantable item was a new seat covering on the drivers seat due to premature wear....quite the hastle getting the right material from Jeep Service Parts and thank heavens for a great servicing dealer in Auburn, Indiana. Happy owner...!!!!!

A bit disappointed, but it sure was pretty - 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By henrietta1 - April 23 - 2:41 amI owned a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo for about a month, and then traded it in. It had very little get up and go on the smallest of hills, it was so bad on gas that I might as well have gotten the V8 cause the fuel economy seemed to be about the same. It was difficult to get in and out of even with the added assist steps. This is the reason that the prior owner traded it. I disregarded that upon purchase because they were an older couple. I am young and it was still a pain to get in and out of with the kids. It is very stylish and eye catching. The 4x4 seems to perform well and the Jeep handled well. I loved the interior lighting. I traded it for a Chevy Cruze diesel and dont regret it

My reliable old friend - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Sanja - April 22 - 7:50 amBought this car 7 years ago and it is still running strong! Took it from the east coast to the west coast several times and everywhere in between. It handles great in the snow. Maintenance makes all the difference with this car. Had big problems with the transfer case which was fixed under warranty. Also rotors warped quickly...used ceramic ones and they lasted much longer. Door seals dont fit properly and some transmission issues. Overall, it has started everyday in 100 degree weather or 5 below. Cant beat that.

Nice SUV: 4.7 eight - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jim - April 20 - 7:33 amI have had my 4.7 eight Laredo for over a year. Its a loaded Laredo with Boston sound, six cd changer, Sirius, heated seats, sun roof and so on. I have driven from Ohio to Virginia and back twice now and got decent fuel economy for a loaded down 4x4 suv. I got over 21 mpg on the highway using cruise control, and even got near the same going through the mountains. I get 16-17 around town. The ride is above average for this type of vehicle. The all wheel drive does well in heavy snow conditions. I have yet to see any E85 fuel available in my area. I would like to have that option since my engine is built for it.
