Model Overview:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

  • Cant believe how much I love this ride! - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

After owning Mazdas for the better half of my driving history, I decided to trade in my very sporty 3s for a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. To my complete surprise, I dont miss my Mazda AT ALL! I did not realize how well built these vehicles really are and how comfortable and fun to drive it is. I just love everything about this Jeep. Handles wonderfully off road and street driving is quiet, controlled and sturdy like a luxury vehicle. I can only hope this Jeep will give me many years of reliability just like I know the Mazda would have. Drove over my first snow bank yesterday. Ok, it was only about 18 inches high, but nevertheless, fun as heck. Now I know the Mazda couldnt have done that! Only in a Jeep!

I am disgusted with the Jeep I have just about the whole car is breaking so far Ive has a valve ob, catalytic converter replaced, radio replaced, antenna broke off and ripped up my hood, bearings and pinion gone, brakes gone, unbelievable. I have a LEMON! Ill never buy another Jeep!

  • Very Disappointed. Last Jeep Ill Buy. - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I bought based on styling and perceived luxury car at affordable price point. Should have known you get what you pay for! Leather dash bubbled up although always garaged at work and home. Interior trim pealing off. Both A/C vent control actuators broken. Hydraulic engine mounts leaked (Jeep mechanic told me they were terrible). Car wont start due to faulty TIPM controller which thankfully is now a recall. UConnect system faulty where it resets when I back up losing rear camera. Door lock motor replaced. Leak in motor replaces on warranty. I will not buy a Jeep again and very likely go with imports from now on. If you buy one get the best warranty they have or as I told my friend but a spare car for when its in the shop! Disappointed and embarrassed that a US company can build such junk and charge so much.

What an awesome SUV! I never knew Jeeps were so awesome; driving feels both like driving a luxury SUV and a sport SUV all in one. I think Im hooked.

  • REDEFINES SPORT IN SUV - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

With over 4 years and nearly 60,000 miles I have to say this has been the best SUV ever ! Ive been in all driving conditions ( 10in. of snow, down pours, gravel, dirt, uphill, towing and uneven pavement ) with zero problems. JEEP handled everything with ease. Equipped with 3.7L engine and 4WD has plenty of power for road use. Gas mileage was much better at over 22 hwy and 18 city than the Honda Pilot I got rid of.

  • Still Love it - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is the only vehicle I have ever purchased that I like as well today as the day I took it home. It is a great all around vehicle for towing, going off-road, taking on vacation, etc. It has done everything I have ever asked it to do and I have never had to do anything other than regular maintenance. With the 4.7 V-8 I average 18+MPG on mixed driving and have gotten 22+MPG on the highway. However towing 2500lbs drops it down into the 13MPG range. I will probably purchase another one however, the Commander is also in my line of sight.

  • I absolutely love my Jeep Grand Cherokee - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have owned it for 25,000 and have NOT have any problems. The body is tight, and the suspesion allows it to drive over anything. I took if offroad on Pismo Beach a few times. Other 4x4s were either getting stuck or drivers had to get out and lower the tire pressure to move. Not the Jeep.

  • Love it! - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive had my Grand Cherokee SRT-8 for about 2 years. It is so much fun! It is not a daily driver of course, with low gas mileage, but for trips to the mountains, or beach there is no better performance and utility value out there. The engine is just incredible and the sound of the exhaust is awesome. Ive only had troubles with the electrical windows which were fixed. I dont think well see a vehicle like this, with 425HP, available in the auto world much longer, Im glad I have mine.
