Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By SBerger - September 18 - 2:00 amThe Jeep does alot of things well. It is nice around town, very capable off- road and in the snow, and has proven to be more reliable than I thought it would be. My only complaint is the poor gas mileage. It was not unexpected, but nonethless, I think Jeep could do better in this area.

Stuck With a Lemon - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Ssoto0055 - September 12 - 4:50 pmThis car was just unreliable. Within in one year the car started overheating. If it wasnt the radiator fan it was the relay. Twice udner warranty, and 3 other times out warranty. Was pricy to fix, but no one could figure out why it kept happening. 3 of the windows fell, one twice. Tail lights also crapped out. Radio went out once too. The tranny started giving me trouble so I got rid of the car. I had a problem with first gear, as the car only wanted to go take off in second gear. I let it go before I had to drop more money into it. It was a lemon but didnt fall under the definition of lemon.

Great looking, not so great to drive - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By dpkimball - September 10 - 11:28 pmWe leased our Grand Cherokee last June, and so far have not been impressed. Granted, the car is great looking, comfortable, and the interior is top notch. That being said, the transmission in this car is a nightmare. Shifting up and down through gears 1-3 is like riding in car with a 16 year old kid that is learning to drive a stick shift. It slams and lurches in and out of gears, almost to the point of being embarrassing when we have friends or guests in the car. Im glad I leased, and that in two years Ill be able to hand over the keys to the dealer instead of being forced to keep this car long term. Its already been in twice for multiple warranty issues.

Great Jeep - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Roadrunner - September 10 - 7:56 pmI am on my fourth Jeep and this one is the best yet. Has most all the features you would expect from a Limited model. I got the Hemi engine and it is a reminder of the older V8s that would get you to 60 in seconds. Wonderful vehicle if you can afford to keep the tank full.

New to jeep, hope to keep...but electrical problems bringing doubt - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By blt71 - September 8 - 12:32 pmI was excited to buy my first jeep limited v8. However, My car has 2945 miles and this is the second time that all of the lights on the dash have come on and the speedometer does not work. It happened at 50 miles and they said moisture got in spark plug. The dealer did not offer a loaner right away and I had company coming. They ended up giving me a mini van. But today I am still waiting for them to fix my car. I hope this is not going happen again in several miles or I made a big mistake with this car purchase.

What a Ride - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By TJ - September 8 - 5:56 amThe new Limited Laredo with the Hemi engine as compared to the last 2 Jeeps owned is SUPERIOR! The ride is smooth, plenty of power to tow, it is quiet and fun to drive. Yes, the gas mileage is what the sticker says (16.5 in town and 19 highway) but is worth the slight additional cost in fuel. We have not experienced any problems during the first 2000 miles and I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Fun offroading and others... - 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jrobertson - September 7 - 10:00 amWhere do I start, I traded my 92 Camaro Z28 for the 97 Jeep TSi model and noted its capabilty for winter driving right off. It is a good snow/off road vehicle. I bought the vehicle at 36000 miles and to date have racked up 105000 miles. The only major problem that I had was Transmission slipping when the unit got hot. Had put the car into the shop twice with "no trouble found" (had transmission serviced second time for $400). Started slipping 6 months later and this time I burned the transmission out (on purpose). Had the transmission replaced at a cost of $2800 (1 new Jasper transmission and labor). Now it runs smooth as silk. I love it.

Laredo vs. Special Edition - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Buren - September 7 - 10:00 amThis is my 3rd Cherokee in the last 3 years. My first two were Laredos and this is my first Special Edition Model and so far, I can say that I like this model. If youre curious about the difference, I can tell you that the Special Edition 2WD model has the body style of the Limited model, (about $10,000 more on the MSRP), but its interior features are that of the Laredo model. Ive been really content with my last Cherokee and decided to trade up to the Special Edition. You wont be dissapointed if you choose this model. The ride is incredibly smooth, handles great on the open highway, and the gas mileage is reasonable compared to other larger SUVs.

Nice SUV, like its Man-look - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Leon - September 5 - 3:58 pmOverall a comfortable experience with purchasing and riding of this car. Only have it for one month and put on 700 miles. Best look SUV ever! Only thing not so satisfied is, city MPG is kinda poor, only 15+ in local.
