Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

A very reliable Jeep! - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By twelveboy - November 29 - 7:26 amWe bought our Jeep Grand Cherokee, V6 2WD, when it had 70K miles and drove it to 205000 miles! We barely gave it regular maintenance and the only things we replaced were the AC blower(about $900) and part of the exhaust ($500). Overall very suburb reliability! We even got about 25mpg on the highway on road trips at about 75-80mph. Would definitely buy one again if I knew gas prices would not go back up!

A Perfect 10 - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Impressed - November 26 - 1:36 pmWhat an amazing vehicle. My wife has wanted the 2011 JGC for over a year and the wait was well worth it. I cant think of a better looking SUV or a more comfortable car. The fit and finish are near perfect, the technology in the car is amazing and seeing people turn their heads is fun too. I would put this vehicle against any in terms of performance and or appearance.

Best Car Ive Ever Owned - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Mike W - November 23 - 8:16 pmLet me be the first to say that I was not keen on the Grand Cherokee at first. I was a dyed in the wool “true Jeep” fan and was not interested in a “Chrysler” Jeep. My previous two vehicles were a 1989 Jeep Cherokee and a 1997 Jeep Cherokee, both of the original AMC design. It was about time to replace my Cherokee when I went on a business trip and ended up with the new Grand Cherokee as a rental and was immediately impressed. So when I got home, I purchased a base model Laredo with a V-6 and have been very happy. Lots of features on the base model and find the gas mileage and pick-up to be very impressive. Great on long trips. Still feels solid after 24,000 miles. No Rattles!

could be better - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Mario - November 20 - 11:20 pmFan belt broke in 6 months after purchasing the Jeep, heater control panel broke down after a year, the brake pads broke within a year. When I keep bringing back my Jeep for repair, the service department is not very receptive to customers.

Junk - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Scott - November 20 - 6:53 pmI got one of the bad ones. I bought it new and its been nothing but problems. Numerous brake issues, driver window motor broke, steering column locked, seat heaters quit working, something is broken inside the dash so heat only comes out of the driver side of the car (cold air out the passenger side), oil pressure gauge malfunctions, check engine light periodically comes on for no reason and I just finished spending $500 for a new heater fan motor, heater module and wiring. On the next breakdown Im planning on parking it somewhere with the keys in it and the engine running, but I suspect that whoever steals it would bring it back after they realized what a piece of junk they had.

Need to improve several problems - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By dguill - November 19 - 7:56 amThis car has several issues that they should recall. My particular problem has been with the power windows. First you hear a popping noise, then down your windows go and dont come back up until you get them fixed. Ive had to replace two at over $300. I also am having the brakes act up now as mentioned on previous reviews. I like the car in general but improvements need to be made.

Need to work out the kinks - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By sbinoc - November 18 - 2:13 pmThis is my first JGC and I really enjoy driving it. It still looks great and the engine runs like a champ (4.7 V8). However, the little problems have added up and it may be time for a change. I have replaced door locks, power seat motors, a water pump, and multiple sets of rotors (brakes are below average for such a nice SUV). My biggest disappointment has been the A/C. It goes out intermittently and the service department cant seem to find the problem. Ive heard other Jeep owners mention similar issues, so I think the company needs to address these things.

2005 JGC first impression - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By fkagi - November 17 - 2:46 pmHave not driven a Chrysler product in over 20 years. Pleasantly surprised with car like ride, precise steering, quiet, good power (5,7l), interior has European "quality feel", achieved 17MPG+ right off the showroom floor, no negatives so far.

Really like this car! - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By harvemax - November 17 - 2:26 amAfter test driving other names in the mid-size,this one fit me the best.I love the way it feels on the road.We have all weather conditions here.Ive taken it up and down heavy gravel, sand and snow terrain.I took her up to northern bc for x-mas this year and had miles of glare ice ,hard pack snow, really rough highways,no problem maintaing 50-60 mph.The family and I were completely comfortable.I feel safe and confident driving it.Havent had any issues except the fuel door doesnt like to open in -25 temp.I did recieve a recall notice to repair a ground wire.Have 6k on it now and will wait until she goes in for her first service at 8k to address the recall.

Awesome family ride! - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Tracey Shaw - November 16 - 6:36 amI love my Jeep! It is all new and rides as smooth as a luxury vehicle yet can run off road better than the rest! I love this vehicle as a family ride due to the extensive safety features, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring, backup warning lights, airbags (knee, side, roof, curtain), latch for child seats, g1reat handling, wide body not tipsy like most trucks, Hemi gives it amazing power, roomy back seat for kids, roomy in back for groceries and stroller, top rack for traveling, navigation system is great for trips! Super stereo and DVD for the kids (a must have!); what can I say, it is everything you need and want! We will drive it into the ground and it will last.
