Model Overview:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Great SUV!! I recommend it to anyone! Great value for the money! Bought it new and now have 12,000 miles on it. No problems with it at all. Ive taken it to the scheduled maintenance appointments and thats it. I bought it while the 7/100,000 was still standard which Im happy about because it gives me a piece of mind. Rides great and I get 18-19 mpg in mixed driving and about 23 mpg on the highway. I have all options except sunroof and heated seats. Looks great and the inline 6 has enough power for what I need. (I dont tow anything) I plan on keeping this car for a loooooooong time.

  • My 500-Day Experience With A 2014 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Bought a new 14 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 in late 13 and traded it in Feb-15 at 25k miles. Heres my (roughly) 500 day experience. The issues. 1-Transfer case seal fluid leak. 2-Heat/AC temp control either blazing hot or ice cold. 3-Check Engine Light four times before fixed. 4-Clunking of rear suspension. 5-Interior tailgate panel kept popping off. 6-Exterior tailgate handle crooked not flush Jeep said factory defect but wouldnt fix. 7-Radio / Climate control unit locked up periodically. 8-began hearing strange noise from gearbox. 9-constant recalls. 10-overly complicated climate controls. That said, there were many things I liked - see next section.

  • Great Mountain Vehicle - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Living in the Sierras we certainly get our fair share of snowy and icy conditions during the winter months, our Grand Cherokee Limited handles these conditions with no problems at all, we especially like the Quadra- Drive system and the HO V-8. An all around great vehicle for people who have to commute in less than perfect conditions

MY JGC Limited is almost a year old and only has 2000 miles on it. I hope the gas mileage improves as engine breaks in. Very nice SUV, almost too nice to consider taking off road. Very pleased with this, my second Jeep vehicle. I had a 2004 Jeep Liberty Renegade lost in a collision.

  • Cherokee SRT - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive had my Cherokee SRT for 2 weeks now (am the second owner of my SRT, 4K miles) and what a vehicle. The performance of a sports car and ride of the smoothest suv. Decked inside and out. Zero to sixty in 5 seconds. Thats right. If only there were more open roads in LA. The perfect combo of speed and accuracy. Decked inside and out. Aggressive yet classy styling. Get yourself one if you can.

  • Transmission Fish Bite - 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Our 2013 Grand Cherokee Overland had the fish bite experience in the transmission described all over the web. We brought it back to the dealership with only 200 miles on it. That began a series of visits over the course of a year – 8 visits in all. We finally received a software update (first promised in March 2013, then June, then July, and then August). The software update made the problem worse! After pursuing the Lemon Law process and getting nowhere with Chrysler, we gave in and traded it for a totally different make/model - with zero regrets. The GC was a gigantic waste of time and money.

Just bought a new 2003 JGC with the 4.7HO. I must say for ans SUV Im passing amost everything on the road. I mean this truck really cruises. A bit noisy and a bit bumby when truckin along, but thats exepcted...its a Jeep thing. Sound system cranks, the interior lighting is very clear and colorful (wife loves it)and its very roomy. Also very pretty looking truck.

  • Not bad for the money - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Second jeep I buy. I live in Colorado so I do go off road often (driving in a graded dirt road is not going off road so I really mean it). Last March we got a big winter storm that put 4 feet of snow (yes like in 48 inches) in my driveway and I was able to drive out the next day. The guy with the F350 superduty got stuck, the Explorers were hopeless, the guy in the 4 Runner couldnt make it and the snow plow broke the blade trying to follow me (no exageration). The JGC is not perfect but as long as I live where I live I will keep Jeeping.

  • Completely Satisfied With Purchase! - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I had been looking for a new car to replace my 97 Blazer for about 3 months and couldnt find the right mix of amenities I wanted at the price I wanted to pay. On a friends advice I went to the Jeep dealer to check out the Grand Cherokee. I had seen them on the road but didnt like the grey side body moldings on Laredo and didnt want to spend up the extra for a Limited just for exterior aesthetics and get a bunch of options I didnt want. The 2004 SE was everyth I was looking for in a new car. Great ca...looking foward to the first snow storm this winter...what more can I say!
