Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By GC - April 6 - 8:23 pmI was looking at the Pathfinder and 4runner when I ran into the 2011 GC. Test drove the truck and fell in love. Hands down you cant beat the price for what is included inside. Drove both the V6 and V8 and thought the V6 was adequate and better on the gas. I would recommend the V8 if you want to fly. Went with the 26X package with the panoramic sunroof. Amazing. This car will be with me for a while. Well done Detroit.

What do you expect? - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By caljeepster - April 5 - 6:37 pmI drive a 2004 Grand Cherokee 4.7 HO, 200k+ miles and going strong. I will keep this Jeep through 500k+ miles. When I was looking for a capable off-road with luxury comforts I found the WJ Jeep was best of the best. You will spend money on this vehicle, especially if you take it 150k+ miles but so what? You can find one used for $5,000. I typically spend 3-4,000 a year on my jeep but that is including lifting it 4", new tires and wheels and I use the 4x4 for fun on trails. That averages out to $300/mo. Not bad for vehicle that gets compliments every week and has rescued its fair share of other off roaders who lacked the power or traction to keep up with my Jeep. I love this Jeep.

109,000 miles - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jeepmode - April 4 - 9:52 amMy fourth jeep, The check engine light kept coming on. After years of dealing with this nussiance, turns out it was a leaky grommet where electrical wires passed through into the tranny. After the tranny was serviced and topped off, even more fluid would pour out. It was an easy fix for the local dealer after I brought it back in. The check enginge light has behaved itself since then. Now I am going to address the lifter noises that have me worried. I will be upgrading the shocks and rotors next time I tear into the brakes. K&N stock replacement filter added about 1-2 mpg (19 highway). I enjoy driving this jeep, It handles good in all conditions. I wish I had heated mirrors, and seats std.

4 weeks and 4300 miles....great vehicle! - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By capt_flounder - April 3 - 4:28 pmI bought my Limited with Hemi about a month ago and promptly moved coast to coast. It is a comfortable, well equipped SUV and our first new vehicle in 17 years. We drove the LR2/4, Q5, XC60/90 and ML350 before buying the Jeep. The Jeep has the ride of the Germans, the Offroad capability of the British and the styling of the Americans. Without a doubt, the best capability/performance/value out there today. After a week and 2800 miles, I know we picked a winner.

Not Bad... - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jim - April 1 - 10:53 amOverall, its not a bad vehicle. This is my third Jeep, and I have no major complaints. Reliability has been pretty good - Ive had a few minor warranty repairs, but thats it. Engine runs and pulls like a champ, and I get lots of compliments on the styling. Build quality could be a little better, but its not awful either. Ill be honest - I didnt spend Toyota money and I dont expect Toyota quality. Gas mileage is 15 city / 20 highway, but that drops pretty quick if I drive it hard.

07 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Laura - March 30 - 2:00 amThis is the 3rde Jeep that I have owned 98,04 and now the 07. I have never had so many problems. After a month of owning it my jeep would not accelerate for at least 5-10 seconds, I ended up having a shifter module put into it, It was fine for about 2 months, Now I am having the same problem AGAIN. It will not accelerate, Thank god this time I wasnt on the highway! A few people have the same year and model and there jeep just randomly shuts off on them. I will never buy a jeep again. They need to do a recall. Looks like almost everyone is having the same issues.

So many problems with 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By lincoln16 - March 29 - 12:39 pmThe day I drove my 2014 Jeep GC off the lost the issues started. As I waived goodbye to my dealer sales rep I notice the Jeep steering wheel is mis aligned and the Jeep pulls to the left on the highway. After multiple realignments and numerous trips to the dealer, they could not fix the issue. Even a Chrysler tech rep came out and could not fix the problem. Then not more than two weeks into ownership and the engine light starts going on and off. After multiple restarts, the engine light goes off only to come on a few days later. A few days after that, the transmission wont go into reverse gear. More trips to the dealer and still not fixed. Im warning everyone...Do Not Buy a Jeep GC.

Great Jeep - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Happy Owner - March 29 - 10:26 amOverall, this has been a great Jeep. The 4.0 is one of the best engines ever made, despite some ancilliary equipment that was poorly designed (water pump, exhaust manifold, crankshaft position sensor). Ive got over 130K miles on it and it is still going strong. I am a fanatic about maintenance, and changing fluids before they are due, which is why all my cars are good for 300k miles.

Extended Warrenty Was a Waste of Money - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By dylan - March 29 - 9:16 amI bought my 04 G.C. in 07 with about 63k on it. I now have just over 100k on it and havent had a problem that I would consider to be beyond routine maintenance. Dont let all these people scare you talking about the window regulators going bad, it is a problem but not a big deal. I had 1 go it cost me $90 and put it in myself in 30 min. What do you want- stuff will go bad on any car. The 6 cyl. is a bit sluggish when pulling a trailer but I doubt any other 6 cylinder in the same class could fair much better with 3000 lbs. behind it. You look at 90% of the complaints on here and there just a bunch of people that expect a vehicle to never have a problem. I would recommend a jeep to anyone.
